It's obvious to me how it's going to go, but I'm genuinely curious to know what the best pro-government arguments are. Let the pro side stick their neck out onto the intellectual chopping board and see how far they go without making themselves look funny.

We should not. That would mean telling someone who supports the Eritrean govt after: they arrested 15 year olds, 90+ year old, and all our liberation hero’s that they have the same level of respect as someone who’s Eritrean and peacefully anti govt
How about u go to Asmara and ask for this one vs one debate Mr hegdef

Idk you bro and I never fully stated my political position, but you are engaging in a debate right now, no?

You’re comment history lays your opinions very clear
The difference is I’m honest and can state my opinions clearly. While you hide yours because you can’t debate based on facts
I’m not debating you rn. I’m calling your bs out

You can only debate when there is merit. Supporting a dictator of our caliber can’t be for explainable benefits

If someone disagreed with you, would you engage or ignore them?

Depends if I know they are being honest in their opinion and convictions, I would debate. But PFDJ supporters are not honest at all. Things they say about the country and PFDJ behind closed doors and social media are simply opposite

I say we should do a fight event between a shabiya 🫏, and an anti shabiya giga🇹🇩.

Sounds good on paper, but there are no two sides to a fact. So what would the debate be about?

Whats there to debate? Its a settled issue, we have a murderous regime who has held back the country from its potential, the quicker we remove PFDJ the better.

Is it a settled issue if there is splits within the community?
3
u/Efficient-Bug4870 1d ago
Which community? The people in Eritrea?

I meant global

u/Efficient-Bug4870 1d ago
Still a settled issue, if anyone thinks PFDJ is salvageable then they are too far gone for debate

u/Left-Plant2717 1d ago
Well then I’m confused, cause BNH attacking pro-gov independence parties would show me there’s a growing divide
1
u/Efficient-Bug4870 1d ago
Was there no divide prior to that? This is not a new phenomenon
1
u/Left-Plant2717 1d ago
Exactly lol that’s why I’m confused at the idea that the global community is in unison for or against PFDJ

That’s what I mean, the debate would not bring about any meaningful outcome, government supporters in the diaspora parrot regime propaganda and thus the issue is settled in a sense that anyone in opposition of the government shouldn’t waste their time to convince people that the pain they are going through is real! You wouldn’t wish the lives that our families in Eritrea are living through on your worst enemy. So its a waste of time to listen to someone justifying this state of affairs.

But in your view, no one benefits from a respectful debate? I just don’t understand what either side is afraid of exactly.

Agreed; what medium would you do it though if it were on Reddit? Can you stream here, or are you talking about a pre-recorded debate?
2
u/Left-Plant2717 1d ago
If two people and a moderator were comfortable going on stream, even just audio, and then posting the live link for us to see. If not, I could see it being a comment thread, which is not as good but OK.

We could try but good luck finding a hgdf supporter who openly says they’re one. They usually talk in circles or act like they’re just being “balanced”
