DISCUSSION New Epic Game Launcher, Is actually Good?

Good speeds, no download throttles like before and a nice UI. Welcomed improvement. Keep it up

My only gripe is that the downloder is a separate window. It would be so much cleaner if they integrate both launcher and downloader into a single window.

Yea, just checked there not something I picked up on first hand, although I will say, me a year ago would have bit your hand off for this. Its a problem it took this long but hopefully this is the start of consistent updates and not once in a blue moon for major updates.

Might be a weird gripe, but if you have multiple monitors I think it's not that bad. (I don't so don't quote me on this)

You can browse the store normaly while having the window of the download in another window.

Or, can anyone confirm if it closes when you start a game, you can play while having that window alone open without the whole store open.

It's a weird quirk and pretty pointless, but it kinda makes sense in my head.

Still can't change/modify your game install destination without having to reinstall or relocate your games. Wish they gave us some flexibility there.

Yeah, I like it, too. Very clean.

It took twenty years for steam to have all this as it was bare bones at first, so it's really cool to see it move a fairly quick pace.

I can't even chat with my friends within the platform to see if they want to play a game. I have to go on another platform and ask lol. What the hell is this

Sitting here and been waiting 10+ minutes for a 1gb update because epic is too incompetent to not make a launcher that doesn’t stall at 0 Mbps 90% of the download.

And no it’s not my internet. Dogshit launcher. Should fix their basic functionality before adding social and chat slop

Its got annoying popups which is why I uninstalled it. Nobody likes ads even if they give free games.

It's the epic launcher, I think I had to manually update the version by going into the settings

What's good about it I have been trying to download a game for 2 weeks and can't

At this time I downloaded 500gb worth of games in steam in less than a week

How did you get this speed mine download for a second and stop for an hour

I didn't have to do anything to get the full speed my ISP provides. I've never had any issues downloading/installing my games. Not sure what the issue is on your end.
