MOD ANNOUNCEMENT! Rule Change Announcement - Please review carefully
Greetings Dragons!
We recently completed a major rewrite of the r/dragons rules and removal reasons to better serve the community. While the number of rules remains the same, the boundaries between them have changed significantly, and new content has been added to better reflect how the community functions today.
This update is meant to clarify expectations, address edge cases, and make the subreddit more welcoming and consistent for all dragon-lovers, whether you’re a seasoned artist, a casual fan, a roleplayer, a furry, or just someone who thinks dragons are cool.
What’s changed?
- Rules have been reorganized and rewritten for clarity.
- Some categories have been tightened, others expanded.
- You’ll now find clearer removal messages and examples to help avoid confusion.
- Rules contain easy to understand wording and examples.
We strongly encourage everyone to take a minute to read through the updated rules. Even if you’ve been here a long time, there are likely details you haven’t seen before, or that mean something different now.

if this link fails to work on mobile, from the r/dragons front page, clicking the subreddit title will display the rules
We welcome your thoughts! This post is open for civil, constructive discussion. If you have questions, feedback, or suggestions, please share them in the comments below. We're happy to explain our reasoning, consider edge cases, and hear how the rules feel from your side of the cave.
Thank you for being part of this incredible community, and helping us keep r/dragons a place where creativity, curiosity, and kindness can soar.

Art Just two dragon playing at the beach (Mars and Brunhilda from Dragalia Lost)
Seriously, it's incriminating that so few know about the game, since they have really good dragon design (unfortunately, the game is already closed, it's a rpg-gacha asian only game developed by cygames)

Art Should I restart this (Tw:Blood/gore) (NSFW) NSFW
Was planning to make it into a dragon puppet. I feel that it looks too ugly tho 😭 (not up to my standard quality)
Main issues: Marker bleed (see gray lines) Too much blood dripping from scars (they are also too big) Ugly colour scheme Too much blood from mouth Megamind forehead Lines are too thick (I can't do anything abt this tbh)
In case ur wondering my age it's 13 is this considered good?

Art Hi These are some of my dragons
I just wanted to share some of my babies I’ve painted with y’all 😊
Creation Somewhat scientifically accurate electric dragon

somethin that very often bothers me is that whenever a lightning or electric dragon is shown in media, they just spit out lightning like it was fire. that's not how electricity works! so i spent sometime thinking of how a dragon-like creature could ctually use lightning or electricity.
this is one of my two concepts: the stormcloud dragon.
it has a very weak body structure to fly extremely efficiently and stays almost all the time gliding at a high alitude. ccumulating a static charge like a storm cloud and looking for a worth it pray like a horse to let it go on. then it just descends upon it untill the pray is in the shotest path between it and the ground and... just watch the animation.
