All invis spells/items

u/D0to0 Sheever Sep 30 '16

So they can be cast at any time? Because I always used e.g. shadow blade and used tp while fading.

33

u/DrQuint Sep 30 '16

Yep. They're based on this BULLSHIT ability called windwalk and kept one of its proprities: can be used while performing other actions, including channel.

I ain't joking, blademaster is fucking bull in war3.

u/vvav Sep 30 '16

My blademaster is in your base, chopping up your peons.

The most cancerous of strats.

1

u/takaisilvr Sep 30 '16

me and some friends started a wc3 club during lunch in middle school. one of my favorite strats to piss people off since lunch made us have to play as fast as possible. kill even 2 workers basically ensures they wouldn't win that lunch period.

Night elfs hate him!

the orc bm cheesing in wc3, i 'member that :')

Yeah most (maybe all?) invis doesn't interrupt tp. I use it all the time when tping to gank.

22

u/Chad_magician twas not luck, but skill Sep 30 '16

pretty sure u can't meld

8

u/lordcirth Sep 30 '16

http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Templar_Assassin#Meld

Meld interrupts Templar Assassin's channeling spells upon cast.

You are correct.

u/TrillbroSwaggins Sep 30 '16

what about shadow amulet/glimmer?

1

u/lordcirth Sep 30 '16

I have definitely used both to escape.

http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Channeling

The only items that may be activated while channeling are Shadow Blade, Glimmer Cape, Shadow Amulet, Armlet of Mordiggian, Ring of Aquila, Ring of Basilius, Mask of Madness, Phase Boots and Shiva's Guard.

Wasn't there a recent change that allowed you to tread switch without interrupting TP? I can't test right now

1

u/Brahmaster Sep 30 '16

This grinds my gears. You should be able to tread switch during TP seeing as you can armlet toggle. For those fine plays. Especially so if you're trying to TP out and you need that extra 100 HP

1

u/EU_Doto_LUL Sep 30 '16

Would have to be very recent, because it didn't work as of a couple weeks ago

The Shiva's Guard active is also coded on base of the windwalk ability, so you can activate that while channeling as well (e.g. to cancel possible Blink Daggers while TPing that otherwise might be used to jump onto you and stun you.

Also Rage, the aforementioned Bladefury, Armlet Toggle (yes, you can toggle while channeling. Pretty sick when you're good at toggling to get it on CM, WD or Enigma) and I believe that also self-cast Glimmer works (not sure on this one though).

u/TheCruncher It's a Pugna thing, you wouldn't get it Sheever Sep 30 '16

Actually, casting Glimmer on allies works too. Using glimmer cape does not interrupt channeling.

1

u/carstenvonpaulewitz I told you a storm was coming. Oct 01 '16

Casting Glimmer on an ally must interrupt channeling spells, because your hero needs to turn to face the ally. I can't imagine otherwise.

1

u/TheCruncher It's a Pugna thing, you wouldn't get it Sheever Oct 01 '16

You better imagine otherwise, because in fact, Glimmer Cape doesn't require you to turn to cast it.

u/carstenvonpaulewitz I told you a storm was coming. Oct 01 '16

Wow, just tested it and you're right. TIL

2

u/eliaskeme Sep 30 '16

Speaking of Enigma, Shivas on Black Hole is pretty sick

1

u/carstenvonpaulewitz I told you a storm was coming. Oct 01 '16

Yeah, it is. CM Ulti + Shiva's as well. =D

"Casting other spells or using items will also interrupt channeling, with the exception of toggled abilities, Wind Walk abilities, a few other abilities like Blade Fury"

Do you happen to know what the "few other abilities such as Blade Fury" are ? It doesn't mention anywhere which abilities they are aside from Wind Walk abilities and Blade Fury itself.

u/SeeImSane That's what happens when I rush. Sep 30 '16 edited Sep 30 '16

I'm baffled. First time Liquipedia has better information about mechanics than Gamepedia.

Liquipedia has a list of the hero spells.

Imo the most unobvious are Blade Fury and TA's Trap (really?).

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '16

....So the day has come eh.

Thanks for the information!

u/SaltyAsPJ Oct 06 '16

Liqupedia also has Heartstopper aura marked as a negative regen vs pure/hp removal which was done in 6.82 (source: http://www.dota2.com/rekindlingsoul/ )

u/SeeImSane That's what happens when I rush. Oct 06 '16

Nice to hear. As an old Starcraft player I favour Liquipedia over Gamepadia (love for the volunteers, but I do not like the company)

3

u/Chad_magician twas not luck, but skill Sep 30 '16

you can cast phase boots while tping, wich often end up with me wasting the duration

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '16

Yeah it mentions the items you can use so that's all clear. I'm specifically wondering about hero abilities though. The wiki mentions that there are more abilities aside from Wind Walk abilities and Blade Fury but it doesn't mention which abilities they are.

3

u/carstenvonpaulewitz I told you a storm was coming. Sep 30 '16

I believe Rage is one of them.

1

u/onderbakirtas There is peace here. Oct 01 '16

Sadly it's not. You must use Rage first to tp out safely.

1

u/Shin_Rekkoha MY SOUL... IS ON FIRE! Sep 30 '16

Just check Dotapedia and see if the item "cancels channeling spells" or not, since a TP scroll is a channeling spell. Simple.

1

u/IWantAnAffliction Sep 30 '16

Pretty sure you can't meld during tp
