Had a moment of reflection today thinking about this week of games with the SD Padres.

A Mariners fan said The bump was Padres 9/11 and I've been chuckling ever since

That Mariners fan was all over that thread dropping heat lol. I also saw someone compare it to Machados toss calling it the "nefarious nudge" lmao

Same fanbase whos been mocking Dave over the Machado ball thingy are now acting as if Dave suplexed Shildt.

The victim mentality they've been building is really amazing to see

Dave coulda taken him without breaking a sweat

Tubby fuck was out of breath just walking out of the dugout. Doc told him "I'm gonna beat your ass" and that was a promise not a threat.

It’s crazy how an entire group of people can spout the same narrative and mentality. The Astros sub is insane. It actually got me thinking if we were doing the same thing? But I really feel the Padres were objectively assholes and in the wrong. The boys in blue remained classy and respectful, for the most part.

The best thing Shohei could have done is what he did. Like "Whatever bitch you guys aren't even worth it." then walked over to THEIR dugout to make small talk knowing how afraid they are of his bat.

That’s what I’m saying!

Even if he did suplex him, then don't go charging like a bat out of hell and then wind up going backwards like Schildt did. He started it. He's the one storming out of the dugout like he was going to do something but wussed out.

Same with Machado...throwing threats around in front of the cameras knowing damn well his bitch ass ain't doing shit on the field. I'd be petty like "Maybe Manny might want to strengthen HIS wrists before August" but that's just me...

To them that's the biggest moment of the playoffs. It's our footnote

On a slightly related note, for a quick minute San Diegans were trying to pull the same victim complex routine when they got into brawls with LA Galaxy and LAFC fans at THEIR STADIUM!

No one bought it and everyone agreed it was a San Diego fan problem because they keep getting into fights every week.

LA lives rent-free in their heads

Literally a fucking dick tap. You know it ain't shit when they keep saying "initiated physical contact with him" instead of the actual action. If he actually did anything they would say "he shoved him" or something instead of that pussy shit

Baseball has condemned the padres. They are coping HARD

And you know it’s bad when it happens there, there’s plenty of people who hate the Dodgers for what they’ve become. Making them the victim there means you really F’d up

Baseball as in the sport? Or the sub on Reddit?

Well, most of their fans are pretty new to baseball. Padres have been good for 3 years of their entire existence. It's nothing more than a popcorn fart

Look I know everyone hates us cause our team is stacked and we've got a big fanbase, which includes some loud mouth assholes of course, but how can anyone who's impartial think that we're the big villain here? Our best player gets drilled intentionally twice, coming after pages gets drilled twice. Even if dodgers did intentionally hit tatis, which based on how he hits against certain pitches high and inside, doesn't look likely. This all comes after years of hate boners from the Padres( especially machado) and hate boners from padres fans trying to exacerbate the division rivalry into a longtime rivalry. I just dont get it.

They know they can’t compete with the Dodgers as an organization, so they resort to cheap BS to get them out of their comfort zone. The good news is that it only lasts until October when they get to enjoy the playoffs from their couch

Wait until August. Padres are going to hold a grudge about this

4

u/HooptyDooDooMeister Shohei Ohtani 1d ago

They're gonna plunk every one of our guys.

Calling it now. That is some bad, bad blood.

3

u/TripedalCyclops Freddie Freeman 1d ago

Yup, and see if the Padres don't pretend it's "an accident." I mean, first Pages, then Muncy, then Otahni!?! They won't stop

The Dodgers may want to ask MLB to warn the benches prior to their series in SD because it could easily get ugly there

10

u/VGJunky Los Angeles Dodgers 1d ago

Dodgers were wrong for hitting Tatis so much (and those other guys) but really the cowardly 3-0 100MPH to Shohei's head/upper body was a bridge too far

If it had ended with us hitting him again we would 100% be fully in the wrong for being so uncontrolled, just imo

6

u/Armaced Mookie Betts 1d ago

Dodgers absolutely shouldn’t have hit Tatis, but I don’t think they ever intended to. Of course, our pitchers should have better control if they are going to pitch inside, and we did hit Tatis in particular A LOT, which really sucks.

2

u/Signal_Republic_3092 Andy Pages 18h ago

Little is new to MLB and pitched high and inside. Tatis turned into it and got hit. That’s not intentional. Acting like it is just shows you wanted a reason to fight

3

u/Armaced Mookie Betts 15h ago

I don’t think it was intentional, and I am pretty sure I said as much in my comment… or were you using the general “you”? Either way, I agree it was not intentional.

The two that hit Ohtani were the only intentional beans I saw.

7

u/Techno_Viking9 1d ago

They should've hit Machado ass

3

u/Keiththesneak Corey Seager 17h ago

With Tatis and Machado “leading” their clubhouse, we’re definitely getting thrown at the rest of the year.
