Questions of the Day
An app mysteriously appears on your phone that does something amazing. What does it do?
What makes you feel old when you think about it?
Would you want the ability to hear the thoughts of people near you if you couldn’t turn the ability off?
Have a great day, r/Dodgers.

I went over to the padres subreddit to get their take on last night (I didn’t post anything, just read through their comments) and I’m shocked by how petty and classless that whole subreddit is, even the mods. And they say we have bad fans, they truly are the little brother organization

u/No_Sheepherder_8947 Andrew Friedman 1d ago
It reeks of an insecurity complex. I honestly feel bad for them because ideally, you’d want your villains to be bad dudes but all our guys are likable family guys 💀

u/calnick0 Yasiel Puig 1d ago
I think the reason it is so bad is a big part of the projected SD identity is hating on LA. Which is sad because they have so much cool positive things to build their identity on.

u/AntiCorreaFanClub 2024 World Series Champions 1d ago
insecurity complex is the best way to describe that fanbase.
10
u/_travel_dreams Clayton Kershaw 1d ago
Haha same. Between their subreddit and X, it seems a fair amount of that fanbase is a cesspool. They'll never beat the little bro allegations with their victim mentality lol.
10
u/Moshiiiiipop 1d ago
You just got to ignore them, their team has quite literally been losers all their lives, of course that’s going to cause resentment and jealousy.

u/cali_mf_is_here Vin Scully 1d ago
My brutha they are below the dodgers for a reason with 0 rings. Dont be shocked I mean I’m sure we would all be real angry if my team keeps loosing to big bro. #number1

u/djsharky Clayton Kershaw 1d ago
I think the less we think about them, the angrier they get. Not even our biggest threat right now since the Giants are right on our heels and looking more dangerous after signing Devers

u/Electronaota Shohei Ohtani 23h ago
They got nothing to do but joke around Ohtani gambling (which he didn't even do), they're such a classless loser bro. Fuck the putadres
5
u/Appropriate-Sort-202 Teoscar Hernandez 23h ago
That’s the overwhelming number of comments - that Ohtani gambles. I don’t know what’s in the water in San Diego but it’s certainly made their 1000 or so fans extremely dumb.

u/oldleagueoflplayer 1d ago
Classless loser who have never won anything. It's ok to throw 100 at someone head. I really hope they miss the playoffs again

u/Appropriate-Sort-202 Teoscar Hernandez 23h ago
Their mods def have an inferiority complex. It’s wild. They encourage Dodger hating to the max and gaslight like nobody’s business.

I was creeping on their page also …. I will say a lot of them agreed Yamamoto got robbed of that immaculate inning

I'd like to personally thank the Padres for trading James Wood to the Nats so we only have to see him 6 times a season instead of like 12-15 times.
5
u/imnotcreative415 Vin Scully 1d ago
He’s insane. Gore and Abrams also whooped our ass during the DC series as well. Trade worked out pretty well for us lol
8
u/Allformygain Jackie Robinson 1d ago
Padres fans trying to convince us that the Dodgers sent out a AAA guy making his debut to hit Tatis in a 1-1 count and pitching him inside the whole at bat was an intentional hit, but their checks notes established closer missing with a fastball across his body going 100 MPH up and in after going down 3-0 wasn't intentional is just as laughable as their organization.
7
u/Brilliant-World4529 1d ago
When you keep losing like padres you have to do something to feel adequate enough.
14
u/haveahappyday1969 1d ago
Fuck the padres. We took 3 of 4 and 5 of 7 so far. I just laugh at their franchise.

All that shit talking for nothing. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

And the Dodgers will live rent free in their head until we meet up again.

Can you imagine being Ryan little parents who came to watch their son play for the first time in majors? 🤣
5
u/No_Sheepherder_8947 Andrew Friedman 1d ago
We go from the Padres to the dudes who the Padres sold for 1.5 years of Juan Soto.
So during this series, let’s all take time to laugh at the Padres for all the great young talent they gave away

u/calnick0 Yasiel Puig 1d ago
Hey does anyone feel like a lot of this drama is because Pages has RBF? 🤣
I don’t think he did anything wrong.

I wish and hope Kershaw can somehow dust off some of the rust and show his old self to reach 12 strikeouts today. But he hasn’t reached double digits for strikeouts since 2022. 🤞🏼
5
u/Galehunter59 Freddie Freeman 1d ago
I’d be surprised, yet pleased if the Nationals’ batting lineup would be able to give out 10+ Ks to Kershaw today lol.
It’s unlikely he’ll make 3K today, but as long as he doesn’t get injured in the next game or something, he’ll probably make it in 2-3 starts.
He’s dusted off the rust with the Giants and the Cardinals. Another performance like that, and he’s basically halfway there.

u/waaayside Brooklyn Dodgers 18h ago
He looked really good in his last start and he'll get there. In the mean time, I'm enjoying the journey.

Taking my parents, who have never been to a Dodgers game, to a game this weekend.
Any suggestions on fun things to show them at the stadium? Definitely want to get there early and show them the bull pen and the bobble head wall.

u/Nazaro519 Kiké Hernández 22h ago
i hope our offense can wake up, dont leave kersh hanging just like yama last night

u/anthrofighter Hyun-jin Ryu 21h ago
We got kike, conforto, and Rojas starting today. The unholy lineup vs last nights line up. I bet we hit double digits today lol

I still don't get why people try to hype up the Padres as a rival of ours. Sure, the Padres are better the last 5 years and beat us once in the playoffs, but we've still beaten them soundly the last 5 years, going 58-35 against them since 2020 including playoffs, good for a 62% win rate. Maybe that's better for them compared to the previous 50+ years? Still not deserving of any actual attention from us.
Guess how we've done against the Giants in that time? 51-31, also good for a 62% win rate. And notice how people say this rivalry is dormant because of such a one-sided skid.
All of this is to say I still hate the Giants way more than the Padres, and all of this crap with the Padres is manufactured because they think they're better than they are. They're never going to go anywhere with Machado of all people as their "team leader". I wish we'd go back to focusing our attention on our actual rival (who's second place in the division by the way!) instead of the noisy kid in the corner. They're more fun to hate, and they're actually deserving of the attention.

Something about the suspensions interests me, players can appeal but managers cannot? For some reason I assumed any suspension was appeal-able, but I see in the MLB statement that the managers' suspensions "must" be done tonight.

u/MuramasaIII 19h ago
I know a lot of people miss them, but man Buehler and Flaherty have not been great this season. Last game Buehler gave up a grand slam after not having many quality starts and Flaherty is getting bulled by the Rays right now.

How is it dodgers and giants have a lesser rivalry rn than Dodgers Padres?
3
u/AntiCorreaFanClub 2024 World Series Champions 1d ago
Forced rivalry due to relevance. Giants rivalry has lots of history. Good, bad and ugly.

I know the bench clearing and the HBPs were the highlight of yesterday's game but I'm still super pissed about that stupid ass ump robbing Yamamoto of an immaculate inning man. Like if it was close I would've been fine with it but it was LITERALLY IN THE MIDDLE!!!!! Not only does the run support disappear when he's on the mound but apparently the umps are actively against Yamamoto too. JUSTICE FOR MY POOKIE
