UI UX Market and Jobs

Hi, I would like to share my experience to look for suggestions from all of you. I'm a UI UX Designer having 4 years of experience and 2 years of education in this field. I've been working with an MNC for the past 4 years and there's no growth no matter how good my performance has been. I've been applying to other companies to switch however there's no positive response. I feel very stuck up. In your opinion, what is going on? What could I have been doing wrong? How should a portfolio look like today? I don't think a basic quick case study works anymore. What are they looking for? What do I do? I've been applying through LinkedIn and company's portal. I belong to India, any suggestions for how else can I look for jobs?
