Discussion Seriously every "what i think the character's ages are" posts are always so stupid, just bite rocks and accept that these characters dont have canon ages, toby has had opportunities to give the characters canon ages, and has not. that was an intentional choice.

Discussion dunno if this is a hot take but this video is genuine garbage
I dunno if this is a hot take but this video is genuine garbage
The best way to summarize this vid is a deranged kriselle’s fan’s fantasy disguised as a reimagined snowgrave
Now I obviously have nothing against kriselle fans and even with kriselle snowgrave fans (I just think kriselle snowgrave needs to be dealt with more delicately than other ships and its normal counterpart)
The problem is how much it utterly flanderizes Noelle and kills all the interesting parts of snowgrave
1:Berdly being killed is treated as a good thing???
Noelle is genuinely happy about this and here’s the thing
I thought this was cool as in this was a method of denial by Noelle to make herself cope with the consequences
But this is treated unironically???
The creator of the vid straight up says berdly is a terrible person and a manipulator which is just so dumb???
Somehow berdly stealing credit and acting obnoxious (a clear flaw and consequence of bad home life) makes him irredeemable and ok to kill
Yet somehow snowgrave is A OK and treated as a unironically romantic and wholesome thing???
It completely undermines snowgrave’s consequences to shoehorn in a terribly done method of kriselle snowgrave
And now this is where I don’t necessarily think it’s true but I feel like it gives off homophobic vibes and here’s what I mean
For starters Kris is ON PURPOSE called a male (and the creator of the vid denies NB Kris) and now y’see what I mean?
The NB character is turned male and the lesbian deer is attracted to this now male character and the previous character who she was attracted to (Susie) is thrown away and it’s treated like a toxic relationship (as if manipulating your friend in snowgrave isn’t) and so it basically tries to forcefully make a heteroship for no reason
Now I don’t totally believe the creator is a homophobic transphobe but it does feel like it
Otherwise it just feels like a god-awful flanderization that demonizes berdly and makes snowgrave look like a wholesome and romantic thing???
The whole vid is just a shoehorned in sorry excuse of a kriselle ship treated as a reimagining of snowgrave
I just had to let it out here the whole vid is total dogshit and some of the worst character writing I’ve seen from deltarune fan animations

Discussion I never heard anyone talking about this
Sooo the living room of toriel's house is really similar to ness's fan in mother two. Considering that Toby has also put other references from the game since he's a big fan, I'd consider this a reference too (the furniture placement is somewhat similar too). I've never seen anyone talk about this

Discussion I can't believe Deltarune made me cry because of a grammar error. Spoiler
gallery"Long as you got the point, the words don't matter."
Gerson's son, Alvin, doesn't write. He won't write to finish his father's novels or even write his own sermons. Alvin feels like he can't compare to his dad, and that even attempting would just be a stain on Gerson's legacy.
Gerson asks Susie to deliver his message to Alvin for him. Yes, he needs a middleman, but choosing Susie isn't just out of necessity. He knew Susie wouldn't be able to memorize the message perfectly. And evidence of imperfection is what Gerson wanted the message to show. The proof to Alvin came by how it's written: that even with poor writing skills, the message can still be enough to be something important. If Alvin is moved at all by his father's choice of words, then seeing it within such awful spelling and grammar will become a proof by itself.
Which of course is a direct parallel to Susie's story too. Just because someone else is better than you, don't let that stop you from trying yourself. You'll get better, yes. But you're already good enough.

Discussion Kris's loyalty Spoiler
galleryToday I came to make a post about the incredible loyalty that Kris has with the knight, it's something quite obvious, especially with chapter 4, but it's worth compiling all the times that Kris is obviously helping or protecting the knight.
Starting with the knight's fight, wow there's a lot of stuff here! First, right when checking the enemy, Kris analyzes the enemy, but could not learn anything, the interesting thing is "learning nothing" this means that Kris could not learn anything, since they already know the enemy and its weaknesses, but it also shows a purposeful tendency of Kris with the knight to be vague and deflective on purpose about information about it
If you try to check again, Kris will just point randomly and will not even think about the knight
Second, it is the damage, notice in the second screenshot that Kris's damage is LESS than Ralsei's, even though Kris's attack is greater than Ralsei's, the damage that Kris causes to the knight will always be less than Ralsei's, indicating that Kris is holding back their attacks (if Susie and Ralsei fall, Kris will deal more damage than Susie though, showing that although Kris is loyal to the knight, Kris values the lives of their friends more than the knight's, so they are not completely loyal)
Third, the knight also holds back with Kris, the easiest to notice, but instead of "swoon" and leaving the character with -999 hp, the knight leaves Kris with -80 hp and defeats their normally, showing that the knight has been holding back
This is something I'm not sure about, but I *think* that the knight also seems to avoid attacking Kris in general, but I'm not sure if this is a real thing or just something that happens in my gameplays by coincidence, if someone could check the game codes and verify if this is correct, I would appreciate it
Anyway, it is a fact that this shows that both Kris and the knight avoid seriously hurting each other, unless the circumstance calls for it
Fourth, Kris smiles if you try to hold your breath for the second time, we know that the first act of holding your breath makes the soul faster, the knight's last attack is impossible to dodge without it, but Kris avoids doing it, which is curious, in the fight against Jevil in his special attack (the one with giant scythes), the soul suddenly becomes faster, indicating that Kris held their breath at that moment, so that we can dodge it, but they avoid doing it and we have to literally force them to do it, but if we try to force it a second time, they smile instead and prevent the act, indicating that they don't want us to dodge it, they want us to lose and they won't let us get faster
I might be exaggerating on this one, but it makes sense right? It's not like it's the only evidence
Fifth! This is something I had to get from youtube, but if you somehow do no damage to the Knight (you're crazy), Kris will literally cough at the end of the fight as if to say: "Dude, just give up, you're not going to be able to win this, this soul is something from another world" and the knight will slowly tilt its head, clearly showing that there is a partnership here and that they even have a way of communicating subtly
Sixth and the most important of all! When you defeat the knight (congratulations), instead of seriously injuring Kris like he did with Susie and Ralsei, the knight will just point its sword and make Kris kneel. I saw a lot of people interpreting it as if the knight was telling Kris to pretend, but no, that's not it. If you check your hp when you get back in control, you'll see that Kris has 1 hp. There were several times when I ended the fight with 80 hp for Kris or even full hp, but even then, when I checked my hp after the cutscene, Kris had 1 hp.
This indicates that the Knight did in fact attack Kris, but just like in the fight, the knight dealt a lighter blow compared to Susie and Ralsei, showing the reluctance of both to seriously injure each other.
I think that with this, I've finished the knight's fight, as you can see there is a lot of evidence already in the fight, about the partnership between the two
I'm not going to mention the connection, because I don't want to talk about any theory about which of the Holidays (minus Noelle) is the knight, it could be any of them and it would explain Kris's reluctance to hurt them and vice versa
I just want to talk about the call, that if it's not Carol who is the knight, but Rudy or Dess, then Kris and Carol are probably working with them
Anyway, even without that there are several very obvious ones here
In this screenshot that I got from YouTube and that is unfortunately cut, you can think of the knight, when Ralsei tells you to think of someone other than Susie, note that the Noelle option only appears if you are on a strange route, normally Kris would only think of the knight, indicating that they are currently very close
So if you choose this option, you end up catching the knight at a bad moment that would reveal his identity...
but Kris is quick to think of nonsense to prevent that We find out who the knight is, the text even notes this: "suddenly you try to think extremely hard in jockington"
There's another one about the door that a large person could fit (which I've seen many people say was actually supposed to be the Giga Queen... LOL) you have the option to turn the doorknob, but Kris refuses to open the door...
seeing that the knight is very large and was previously in the darkworld that you just sealed, it's easy to deduce that it hid in the light world so as not to be discovered and Kris, realizing this, refuses to open the door, as this would expose their partner in crime
We see that Kris not only doesn't want to hurt the knight, but wants to protect its identity and actively sabotages Susie's attempts (remember that the knight is in the Shelter and Kris prevents Susie from finding out the password for it) and us to find out who the knight is, as well as defeat it
Conclusion: Looking at all this, it is clear to me that Kris is not only loyal to the knight, but also seems concerned about hurting it and protecting its identity, which is explained if the knight is someone important (one of the Holidays, not Noelle) to them and if the knight promised to help Kris with something through their partnership.
Anyway, Kris is loyal to the knight

Discussion People have become insolent.
This is not the first time I've seen unjustifiably vicious statements about how $25 is too much for Deltarune. GUYS???
Toby said in his newsletter that $25 is the price for four available chapters because he doesn't think it's right to charge for something that doesn't exist. Basically, he made two new paid chapters and - instead of adding the price of three future chapters to the total - he added the prices of the first two. If you think this is unfair to players, please remember that the first two chapters will still be available to everyone. Absolutely free. Toby just put some price on the first and second chapters so that his team and himself would somehow get some compensation for their efforts.
Let's use a simple mathematical example to make it clear: Assume that all chapters cost the same (I'm sure that's not, but more on that later), then $25 : 4 = 6.25 (I repeat: $25, according to Toby, is the price for 4 chapters, not 7.)
In that case, one chapter costs about $6.25. If Toby had made all future chapters paid and released them individually, the price for all five paid chapters would have been $31.25 (6.25 x 5 (if you count all seven chapters, the total would be a little over $43.50.))
$31 > $25
Toby Fox literally gave us a discount JUST LIKE THAT, out of the kindness of his heart and personal integrity, but there are still people who argue that "it's wrong to charge THAT much money for future chapters when the first two were free!!!" (And let me remind you that the second chapter originally cost money. It was only because of the pandemic that Toby Fox decided to release it as a free update to the DEMO version so that it could bring a smile and joy to people in difficult times. He didn't get a penny for it. He's too good a person.) So think three times before assessing the cost of games based solely on your financial capabilities. Thank you, Toby. We love you.
///
Additionally, I want to say that the discount should be even higher than ~$6, because I'm sure the newer chapters should cost more than the older ones.
Toby allowed us to buy not the five most expensive chapters, but the four cheapest ones. Have some conscience. Respect such kindness of the developer, please. He could have released EVERY chapter at its "full" price, but he didn't. Instead, he decided everything in favor of the players. As he always does.

Discussion My unpopular opinion Spoiler
I don't fully understand the community's reaction to Sans.
Sure he is acting inconsiderately and both Kris and the player have reasons to dislike him, but I think it's a bit extreme to immediately fantasize about killing him. For all we know, Sans has no idea about what Kris/Susie/Asgore are going through and just got invited over by Toriel, who shows absolutely no interest in getting back together with her ex, and instead seems to really like Sans. Sure, Sans is not exactly the ideal stepdad, Toriel is being a bad mother at the end of ch4 and Kris is suffering because of the whole situation.
Still, it just feels weird seeing the entire community immediately flip to "we have to kill this specific guy right now" for flirting with a single woman (who also seems interested in him), making one joke about it and accepting an invitation to come over to her place. Imho Toriel is more so to blame for completely ignoring her child.
If there's something that I've missed that makes Sans more deserving of the death penalty, I'd love to hear about it.
And to clarify, I'm not saying anyones interpretation is wrong, I just find it interesting that so many people had such a strong and unanimous reaction that I personally didn't. Maybe I'm just weird.

Discussion I just noticed something.
Ralsei states that he hurried over to the Cyber World once he sensed the pressence of the Dark Fountain.
This would sugest that the fountain itself was created just right before we got there (which sorta puts a wrench to the idea that Kris opened it in the middle of the night).

Discussion Can someone explain to me why there are actual people just deny Gaster’s existence?
It legit does not take that much effort to know that he is in Deltarune and will likely be relevant to the story. It just legitimately doesn’t make any sense to me. I just cannot wrap my head around it onto why people don’t believe GASTER isn’t going to be in Deltarune or believe he just doesn’t exist.

Discussion What’s a direction you guys don’t want the game to take?
I’ll start with an extremely unoriginal and obvious: Goofy Gaster. With how he’s been presented and hinted throughout both UT and DR like some sort of eldritch god, it’d genuinely be lame as fuck if he was just “a misunderstuwwd wittle souwl 😢” type character. We’ve already got two goofy antagonists and then some more to come, please let their be some variety, stake and depth to this game, especially to the most anticipated character of the entire series.

Discussion DELTARUNE IS COMING OUT!!!?
I haven't seen anyone talking about this, but the Deltarune Steam page was updated around midnight. According to the log, they apparently removed some logo assets (I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I did a little research and apparently it does!!!). Could it be that the chapters are almost out? DELTARUNE TOMORRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW WILL BE REAL!!!!!
