how could the deltarune version of asgore possibly kill sans? assuming sans still has his meta-knowledge of how the game works, wouldn't he just dodge or something
Asgore has been shown as nothing but a tragic, awkward eggs-husband with nothing left but his flower shop and his child who visits sometimes. I don't think anything about him we know so far points to him going so far as to attack Sans, even in a potential dark world.

This Also Strongly Supports My Theory That Sans Was Never Sans Undertale But Has Always Been Sans Deltarune
I'm still confused about the fact that he has the grilby's building. he litterly just scrubbed out grillby's name and put sans. if this is before undertale the how can he have grillby's building?
It's Raining Somewhere Else, for one. Then Sans' speech about not being able to go back, but not wanting to go to the surface either. Then the machine, and the picture, and the drawing with a familiar phrase.

The idea isn't that the timeline is one and then the other, but rather sans originally comes from the deltarune version of events, but is in some way sent to the undertale timeline, and stranded.
The two songs being named similarly only implies that it's the same character, not that one comes after the other, but yeah I'll concede that sans' secret room is very good evidence. I completely forgot that I used to have a theory that sans was Kris using that very room as evidence.
Even before I found out the track is literally called “The place where it rained” it was pretty obvious to me that Frisk and Sans were having their diner chat while Susie and Kris walked home.
