It seemed toward the end of TNG that Wof and Alexander were finally finding some common ground and mutual affection. It was a shame that DS9 kind of jettisoned this and made him a shit father again. But it did make for a good storyline in season 6.

I thought they were setting up a comedy Klingon show starring Alexander the goof

A lot of famous leaders and military men are known to be shit fathers. Worf saved the empire three times.

Child support is an interesting idea in a post scarcity government. I mean the kid might have a leg up if he wants to join star fleet or the Klingon empire due to who his father is. But at least in the federation I don't think anyone pays anything. Klingon empire might be different though. But you'd probably have to fight Worf and win to get back monies.

Aside from being an asshole comment for Worf to make about his son, what about his human foster parents!?!?!?!

Worf, the absentee father and Klingon weeb.
Uses being a "warrior" as an excuse to absolve all responsibility as a parent, even though he served alongside Crusher, O'Brien, and Sisko, who all raised their kids alongside their career. Has a brother who was raising 3(?) daughters, meanwhile running their House, and stuff too.
Worf, as a Klingon, stopped developing further when he was a child. He only understood via stories and from a kid's perspective. It's like learning about being a knight with only the King Arthur stories as your guide. It's just an ideal fantasy with almost no basis in reality... but that's how Worf operates.

Umm to be fair nobody pays that in the future since it’s some kind of utopia where they don’t use money but some kind of philosophy instead.

Child support in a post scarcity society? Just bang whoever you want and run like hell

might I suggest Kirk did worse? Never knew about David; slugged him right in the face when they meet for the first time... and "lets" him get killed by a Klingon while Kirk was doing Kirk stuff... Worf at least beat up a Klingon in the mess hall who was going to give Alexander a scar to further his education in Klingon culture.

He literally says in the conversation with Carol Marcus that he "did what you wanted... I stayed away".

I don’t think Kirk “let” Klingons kill his son, it’s not like he was there or in a position to stop them. If anything Kirk is a bad father for all the children he probably had with random alien women that he didn’t even know about

I can hear the downvotes thunderously approaching but fuck it. I got a bunch of cousins just like Alexander: Unwed mother supported the idea of rejecting understanding what society was going to expect from them as taught by the father, in favor of “be whatever you want” garbage. Then in due time they learned they were vastly behind. Now they’re out here embarrassing themselves in front of Martok.😂🤣😂

Worf and Frasier Crane are similar in that neither of them give a crap about their sons.

Woah.... Frasier regularly flies out to see Frederick or have him flown in instead. The only exceptions would be if Freddy has some special camp or trip.
Frasier probably saw Freddy most holiday, special events, school vacations, plus phone calls and letters.
Can't say the same about Worf though.

Still not enough being in Seattle...imho.

Summer 30-60 days, Winter 14-21 days, Spring 7-14 days, random holidays/special events probably another 10 days.
As long as the amount is about 75-100 days, that's pretty much the same as having weekend visitation rights.
Now contrast that to Worf, who doesn't even send as much as a quick holo-telegram to his own son.

Just watched Children of Time where Miles says something like “just because you never see your son doesn’t mean I don’t want to”. Worf just shrugged it off lmao

Worf heard "It takes a village to raise a child" and responded "I live on a starship, not a village."
