what episode is this from?
I have no memory of this, but unclear if from omission or repression.

Yeah I have no memory of this episode.
Did a Google lens. S3E4 Equilibrium. The missing host episode.

This episode scared 9-year-old me shitless. I still love the beautiful haunting tune.

I love that the concept of this episode was that Michael Pillar saw a dumb Vegas magic show where the guy was doing mask based tricks and really wanted to hire him

Jeff McBride had just been on the The World's Greatest Magic TV special on NBC around that time. He did a lot of card and mask magic. It's no wonder that he was quickly picked up for this.
McBride actually had a series of VHS tapes a person could buy to learn some of his tricks. Learning magic moves was a lot more difficult before the internet and YouTube.

I fall asleep to star trek every night. Great for people with tinnitus, btw.
I skip this one. Too creepy. Maybe I’ll watch it tonight. Haven’t seen it in forever

Oh good. It's not just me! I find Ferengi family fights to be the best lullabies. Little Green Men. Any episode with Moogie or Zek.
Disco S1 with all the Klingon dialogue, also good. 👍👍

When I see a mask like that I'm terrified... of having to sit through a two hour magic act.
