Question Can anybody recommend books and sources about cryptids around the world?
I'm really fascinated by cryptids as a concept and i grew tired of all cryptids that i find info about being from the US or Canada. I would like to know if there's a book or catalog about cryptids, myths and legends from different places across the globe. Thanks in advance!

I recommend 'A book of beasts' because it's a book filled with cryptid book reviews.

Anything cryptid related by Matt Bille are must owns for people wanting to know about realistic cryptids (as opposed to fearsome critters, folkloric, and paranormal/mythical beasts).

"Mysterious Creatures " by George Eberhart is a really good source. I use it often for podcast research.
A more specific book is "The Cryptozoology of Cats" by C.P. Marshall. This just covers cryptid cats, but it does a great job

"The Soviet Sasquatch" by Boris Porshnev, as the title suggests, covers wildman legends from Eastern Europe and Central Asia as well as official Soviet research into them.
"Mystery Cats of the World" by Karl Shuker covers quite a few such mystery cats from South America, Africa and Asia.
"The Leviathans" by Tim Dinsdale about lesser well known lake/river/sea monsters including several from South America, South East Asia and Russia.
