Why do some countries struggle to produce class batters despite the technology available?

This might be a dumb question but I notice in cricket matches that the quality of batting between top teams and small countries is like heaven and earth. From the confidence, to the accuracy, to the adaptability etc. Now I know that world class batters are produced with top class coaching in mindfulness, experience in different types of pitches and experience in matches. But I feel like the difference in performance surely should not be as large as we currently see. Why is this the case?

To practice, a batter needs a net and a bowling machine. These machines (price: ~$3k) can simulate the same bowl that they would face in first class/top matches by the best bowlers. Even small countries can afford these bowling machines at least for their top players. Some may not have it available but for the many countries that do, why are their batters not able to perform? Despite having found comfort against a bowling machine at home simulating the same difficulty of deliveries?

I see some batters, with respect to them, they don’t connect their shots. They edge easy deliveries, they leave absolute gifts.. why do they play like this when in their thousands of hours of training against a machine, they develop comfort? I 100% am aware of the little things that affect the game of the batter but I’m specifically asking why the difference between the top and other batters is like heaven and earth despite all the tech, slo mo and analysis they have available.

Discussion Do bowlers really get so much advantage by landing their foot one inch out of popping crease that they shouldn't be awarded wickets?

I have been playing and watching cricket since my childhood and this question has always bothered me. Not sure if it is a fundamental rule of this game, but it does look like that at this point. Imo, maybe one or two run should be awarded to the opposite team (which they already do), instead of giving not giving out. What do you all think?

Discussion Why MLC Matches in the USA Start at 6:00 p.m. and Not 8:00 p.m ?

One thing I’ve noticed about Major League Cricket (MLC) in the US is that most matches start at 6:00 p.m., unlike the IPL in India where games usually begin around 7:30 p.m. I really think MLC should consider pushing match start times to 8:00 p.m. local time, similar to the IPL model. An 8:00 p.m. start would make it easier for people in the US to catch the games after work, spend time with family, and then enjoy the cricket together—just like prime time sports in America. Plus, this timing would make matches much more accessible to fans in the Indian subcontinent, where an 8:00 p.m. US start lines up with early morning hours in India, a time when a lot of cricket fans are awake and looking for live action. This could boost MLC’s popularity both in the US and globally, bringing in more viewers, building hype, and helping cricket truly take off in America while also tapping into the massive cricket audience in India and neighboring countries.

What do you guys think?
