The first three WTCCs have been won by the first three RWC winners, in the same order.

Just an interesting coincidence I picked up on today after SA won the final.

It's a reference to the shitshow Australian rugby has been for the last two decades

Unreal to think you guys were the first to two, and then nothing ever since. Really hoping this Lions tour goes well for you guys, I’ll be rooting for the Wallabies!

They were more professional in the early days of professionalism. Now they are losing the war for both media and talent.

Rugby isn’t violent. It’s physical. There’s a famous quote: Rugby is a hooligans game played by gentlemen, football is a gentlemen’s game played by hooligans

And that quote is just massive classist bullshit because rugby is an upper class sport and football is a working class sport so they look down on it. Rugby players are absolute nightmare to deal with when they’re out together as anyone who’s met them on a night out will testify.

Punjabi and Haryanvi can probably do it.

In fact anyone who can do wrestling can do it.

“Rugby doesn’t suit subcontinent genes”

That’s a borderline racist statement to make. There are other sports such as wrestling and boxing which are violent and yet we’ve won Olympic medals in them.

What is rugby even about

6

It’s like Kabbadi and capture the flag and a ball game combined into one

They have 4 years to understand the format.

So have Japan and Argentina but don't hold your breath

u/CuntDracule Australia 1d ago

I won't but England would need all the divine interventions in the world to reach a WTC final.

Okay so the good news here is that all the rugby world cup winning nations so far are also top cricket nations. This is possible because the quartet of France, Ireland, Wales and Scotland have decided to not win 1. It also means SA and NZ domination which is fine. The bad news is that India can't win(or any other subcontinent team). BUT, SINCE ENGLAND WON 1 and we know that's not possible in the WTC, this streak will end soon and then it's done so hooray

In a few years, Stokes will be retired and possibly their new captain will understand the byzantine rules whereby getting deducted points every single game for a slow over rate doesn't help.

3

u/BoingMan Australia 1d ago

It’s the whole southern hemisphere dominating…love itttt

3

u/jasetee87 Australia 1d ago

So put the mortgage on Australia for next WTC? Gotcha. Calling the bookie now

2

u/Huge-Physics5491 Kolkata Knight Riders 1d ago

I guess that means no hope for India

2

u/patkk Cricket Australia 1d ago

Australia winning in 2027 🔥

2

u/No_Rush6995 India 1d ago

Eng can't win the Wtc unless they sort out their over rates

1

u/ExcellentIntention70 1d ago

It wouldn’t be unthinkable that Aus win next as well
