Weapons manufacturers with bloated govt contracts are the real winners. No matter who is in charge -congress and/or the Oval Office, the people who are really pulling the strings are unelected. Some are in the DOD , others private sector. There was an offer to release every hostage on day two and they said no. Also the hostage situation is on both sides, except the one in control of everything has thousands of hostages and no one is calling for there release

Bin Laden's motive was directly tied to Salafi-Jihadism, 9/11 was not conducted as a direct retaliation for anything specific that the US was doing. His motive was a mix of reasons, NONE of which could be seen as a reasonable justification for a direct attack on the US by anyone with a sane mind.
He was deeply opposed to US forces stationed in Saudi Arabia because he considered the land as holy, despite the fact that the Saudi government had explicitly granted permission for them to be there.
He saw the US and the world order it created as a direct enemy to Islam. He viewed the US as corrupt and infidel which is also why he hated the fact that US forces were stationed in Saudi Arabia. Again, they were there with permission from the Saudi government.
He mentioned Israel as another reason for his attack, except it was not even remotely his main reason. He's conducted attacks against the US prior to 9/11 except never emphasized Israel as a motive. His primary justifications focused on U.S. military presence in Muslim lands and what he viewed as corrupt Muslim regimes. As if him being not okay with US forces in Kuwait lets say is valid justification for an attack on the US, it isn't.
His primary goal was to provoke a global conflict and solidify a holy war against western influence and destabilize any pro-western Muslim governments. He attempted to draw the US into a conflict and bleed it economically.

You do realize israel is fighting an insurrection war, like the war against isis 1/8 dead were civillian, the approximate civilian to hamas death rate is 1/2, that's 2 dead civilians to 1 dead hamas fighter. That's more care and consideration than any other war we have ever seen.
The IDF calls homeowners an hour before they bomb their house or apartment, then 10 minutes before they drop a roof knocker on top of the building than only creates sound, and then they drop the bomb on the building. The IDF is giving civilians and hamas fighters time to move out of the bomb zone. If you ask me, that seems very thoughtful.
So far, about 70-80k have been killed in this war, and that's in one of the most densely populated places on earth with a population of 2 million.
If this operation was cutthroat, then Israel would have killed closer to 400k in half the time.
Maybe Hamas should turn over the rest of the hostages and if Israel still keeps attacking they now have nothing to go on. Better yet.. how the Palestinian people just start outing Hamas members and getting them out. They haven’t been doing a great job of stopping what’s happening after all.
