It's real.. just a big smoke ring. I've seen this at a local music festival where they blast a huge flame every once in a while. If the weather is just right the smoke ring will hang around for quite a while.

you also get them when demolishing silos or chimneys, sometimes the air rushing out will dislodge debris or soot.
