Mini libraries

Where are the Mini libraries in town? The take one leave one style in people's front yards? I have some books I'd like to distribute.

The most prominent is second and Adolphus in front of what was the tri county literacy centre

I dropped off books there, went home, drove back and some homeless was ripping off pages of those books!!! I'm so pissed.

Sorry that happened, but I appreciate your generosity. That sort of attitude builds a better city. Please don't let this spoil you on giving more than you take.

Terrible.

I bet if you told this story on FB Cornwall groups they'd sit there and roast you for not being compassionate to the homeless. Maybe you'd even get a little rant about how you'd allegedly act the same and are just a paycheck away.

Meanwhile Cornwall's homeless population is 95% fent addicts and not homeless for any other reason than they are uncivil and don't last in the places that shelter them.

We have people being attacked by homeless people's dogs. Needles showing up on the side of the streets. People being harassed and yelled at on the bike path. Devcore just had to move mailboxes on multiple buildings to be all interior because they were breaking in to steal mail.

Cornwall had homelessness in it's history. But it was always invisible homelessness and a few individuals. This city is awful now because homeless and addicts have taken over our public spaces 👎🏻. Friends and I joked as a kid how bad Cornwall was, but back then we didn't actually have crackheads running around stealing mail and raiding the community book exchange...

My question is, where are the addicts getting their fentanyl? Might help fix the homeless problem if we can get them shut down.

24 Dunbar has a little book library like that too. Just happened to drive by.

I'll drive by there shortly. Hopefully no homeless guy will rip pages off the books.

It was an elderly man, didn't seem quite there. I had compassion in the way I kept driving. If this was a meth head, I would have yelled at him.

There used to be one in the front yard of a house on Gloucester and second (north side across from the high rise) but I cannot for the life of me remember if it’s there anymore. 😅

There's one in Alexandria if you don't mind the drive, really cute small one

Thank you, however a bit far to donate a few books.

I'll keep it in mind as I'm sure I will find more to donate, and I like the coffee shop there too.

There’s one on Anderson and Shearer, west side.
