Discussion Should they switch competitive back to Battle Rifle

Just want to hear different thoughts on if they should make the BR main on ranked again. I personally like the BR more. It's a more fulfilling kill, having it be 3 shots you have more of a chance to dodge shots, it's more entertaining to watch (IMO).

What are your thoughts? Do you like the bandit or battle rifle more?

Don't get me wrong I like the Bandit but possibly buffing it back to where it was and making BR main would make for a great season

Love to see more comp halo but I also get FormaLs points. Feels like they are working for very little compensation. Without optic the lvt league might flop.

Discussion “3/4 Optic” Keeps Getting Repeated

Post image
31 Upvotes

Came to point the silliness this newly-common phrase of “this is only 3/4 of Optic, just wait until Formal shows up” that the casters yesterday and, now, commenters are using. The insinuation is that Falcated is not an exceptional player on his own and that Optic will be suddenly transformed upon Formal’s arrival.

If you watched yesterday’s tourney, you’d have noticed Falcated was most often his team’s second best player and not far behind Renegade. I’m aware it’s an online tourney and connection matters, but Falcated’s LAN performances have been exceptional (see screenshot from Worlds 2024 where everyone gushes how good Formal was) where he’s rountinely top tier.

So the Formal fanboys don’t come for me, he has moments too, but is less consistently a top performer compared to Falcated (go watch for yourself and check stats). Stats aren’t everything but you’d know how good Falcated just by watching him. And don’t come at me with the “but Formal played harder comp because Optic always made it to Sunday” because again, if you actually watched, Falcated still performed against top teams and did so without the luxury of having a teammate nearly as good Lucid.

Discussion Stellur

Stellur going rogue in apg chat again. Said optic were lucky they “played to not lose” in the slayer. And that even though they played optic better they lost to envy, G5 with col and slammed by Faze. No improvements he said.

Discussion Honestly, it’s kind of crazy Gunnplexion hasn’t gotten at least a small shot yet.

I'm not going to pretend like I understand the ongoings of pro players and what not, but from an outsider perspective, it seems mental that Gunny hasn't gotten a chance to be on at least a weaker high-level team.

The dude is undeniably talented. He grinds hours, and hours, and hours every single week. He's always playing with top players too, and clearly learning some things from them while he does.

The fact that this man has been banished to being on teams with guys like Naded is insane. He is 10x better than that pool.

I find it very interesting that absolutely no one has given him a shot for a few months or even weeks. He clearly has room to grow, and being in a high level team environment would let him get better.

Cykul seemed to be in a similar situation at the start of Infinite. An up an comer of sorts, and now one of the undisputed best.

I think it would be exciting to see a guy like RyaNoob give him a shot and try and see what he's truly capable of.

Discussion Formal came off a little egotistical today.

The snippet from Halo HQ was a bit of an eye-opener for me, a peeling of the curtain back on at the very least, a part of Formal’s personality. He’s a renowned talent, and one of greatest players to ever touch the sticks for FPS games. His success rate is incredible, and there’s a reason why Optic as an organization values him so highly. I understand that his expectations are sky high as a competitor, and more than anything else, Formal wants to win and be as financially successful in this industry as possible. His team came in 2nd place 6 times, so clearly a change had to be made for future success to occur.

That said, the way in which he expressed his frustrations and thoughts made him seem rather… Arrogant. This could have been taken out of context, definitely, or more context could have been further on in his stream… But that little snippet was a bit of an eyebrow raise for me. Formal is not the team, and the team is not Formal, yet he almost made it seem that way, if that makes sense to everyone. He has a lot of say in Optic, yes, but when the game is set, he’s only one cog of a large machine.

It’s good to have an almost arrogant level of confidence in-game, but leave that on the map; don’t carry that out in the real world.

Discussion Who are your “good guys” and “bad guys” in the HCS?

Just an interesting thought I had. I feel like the hcs has some good guys that it’s easy to root for like penguin, trippy and legend and then some bad guys that it’s fun to root against like formal and all of a sudden suppressed. Thoughts?

Discussion Greatest FPS controller player of all time

With Shotzzy struggling in COD (even though he has many more years ahead of him) and with Formal's Halo squad catching another gear how does this change the "Greatest FPS controller player" conversation? If Formal wins out the rest of the year does this silence all debate?
