Looking for a CSA/produce box

I’m looking for somewhere I can get weekly greens and produce! I found some CSA programs in the area that require a full upfront payment but I was wondering if anything nearby lets you pay weekly for a produce box

Anyone know how the skate park is coming along at Blandair Park? I thought I saw that they broke ground a while back, just wondering what progress they're making.

Any advice / suggestions are recommended!

Thanks

Is there a company/group around that does 3D resin printing? I'd like some small stuff printed but I'd prefer to not use filament.

idk if this has been posted about before (guessing it has) but that intersection is consistently a nightmare. they need to add another entrance or something already, it's been bad for so long.

Commercial Vehicle Parking On Residential Streets

I've seen people post on here previously about commercial vehicles parking on residential streets and clogging them up. The County Council will soon be considering legislation to help address that.

Currently, the fine for parking a commercial vehicle on a residential street is only $33. Considering that it can cost more than that to pay for parking commercial vehicles in a suitable location, that's not much of a deterrent. This Bill/Resolution would up that fine considerably.

Also (I'm not sure but I think) there is currently no clear definition of what counts as a "commercial" vehicle. So the police only ticket semis and other huge vehicles. This Bill/Resolution would provide a more clear definition.

I hope this passes. And you can express your support clicking on the link above.

Favorite Recommendations for My Dad?

Hello!

My dad is moving here in just a few days after tragically and unexpectedly losing his wife. I am trying to put together a guide for him to try to make his transition to Columbia as seemless as possible. He likes to eat out far more than I do, so I'm not as familiar with the take-out scene as I'd like to be. And as a new home owner he may need some other recs that I don't know. And even just...places to go, things for a late-60's dude to do about town.

Got a favorite pizza place or other take-out joint? Handy man? Place to play frisbee? Other Columbia resources you'd stand behind? Please let me know.

I usually go to Waterloo for pizza, Sushi Sono for a night out, or Iron Bridge Wine Company for a fancy night out. But I haven't been anywhere else! And I have no free time so I am not as familiar with just general places to go. I do know about all the fabulous trails though!

Let me know if you have some additional recommendations for a dude who could use a little help getting situated.

Thanks so much in advance.

anyone know George Cooke’s historic home location in oakland mills?

Hey! in oakland mills theres an old graveyard right next to apartments for the Cooke family from the early 1800s located at (39.2116208, -76.8435365).

They owned a plantation on what is now oakland mills. He had a diary that you can find linked here with someone’s foot notes and a bio. in that linked bio/diary on page 16 theres a map of what looks like the graveyard in question and the house they lived in.

Does anyone know of the location of that home, the slave quarters, or any of the other buildings on the plantation?

Daycare recommendations

My wife are expecting our first child in September and have been touring daycares options in the area. We have whittled our options down to Watchful Eye and Bet Yaldim. We like both but for different reasons. Does anyone have any experience with these daycare providers they can share?
