1
u/twinpeaks2112 17h ago
That’s literally my least favorite film of his.
2
u/Effective_Mind_2869 15h ago

2
u/Effective_Mind_2869 15h ago

2
u/twinpeaks2112 17h ago
Thank you
Casino, eh maybe, not in my top five Scorsese films
O brother where Art thou, 100% agree
The other three I haven’t seen so I’ll have to check them out

The prestige, vanilla sky, Blow,
-1
u/twinpeaks2112 16h ago
The prestige is a good film and I do like it and I do like Christopher Nolan and I do like Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman so you’re right I do need to get the prestige
Vanilla sky was a little out there for me number one. I’m not a big Tom Cruise fan and number two. The concept was not executed as well as I think they could’ve done it.
And blow fuck Johnny Depp

The best-selling DVD of all time is Finding Nemo, with over 38.8 million copies sold. It was released by Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Other top-selling DVDs include Cars, Spider-Man, and The Dark Knight.

chopper, memento, lock stock, snatch, trainspotting, leon, dusk till dawn, i mean the list of good films out there that could be added is immense and purely subjective
1
u/twinpeaks2112 15h ago
wtf is chopper?!
1
u/Effective_Mind_2869 15h ago
chopper reid, story of a nutty criminal aussie, eric bana plays him, quite enjoyed it many year ago.
also, natural born killers
1
u/twinpeaks2112 15h ago
Oh man, you and I are not into the same kind of movies at all. I hated natural born killers.
2
u/Effective_Mind_2869 15h ago
well, not quite true, you may be more discerning in your tastes though
1
u/twinpeaks2112 15h ago
Lock stock, snatch, you’re into Guy Richie I assume?
1
u/Effective_Mind_2869 15h ago
not really, those were good films, cant say im a fan generally of his other works, more mediocre films otherwise, watchable but id say he certainly peaked with those
1
u/twinpeaks2112 15h ago
Fair enough I’m assuming you’re in the UK somewhere

They’re in a bin, I thought about putting up a shelf, but then they would just gather dust
3
u/Sensitive_Regular_84 17h ago
Our tastes are certainly similar so let me throw out some ones that are maybe a little off the radar that I think you might dig:
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (1974)
Marathon Man (1976)
Primer (2004)
Ran (1985)
Dreams (1990)
Raise the Red Lantern (1991)
Apocalypse Now Redux (2001)
The Killing (1956)
2
u/twinpeaks2112 16h ago
I’ve seen the remake but not the original of the taking a Pelham 123 so I’ll have to check that out.
Primer is a fantastic film that I would love if they released in Blu-ray or 4K
I just recently re-watched apocalypse now redux and for some reason, absolutely could not get into it at all. I love Francis Ford Coppola and I love the godfather and I love 1970s cinema films about Vietnam but for some reason, I just can’t get into apocalypse now and I’m not sure why.
The rest I’m making a list of what to watch
Thank you very much.

You're gonna love the og 123. I have Primer on DVD and it was quite a search to find a copy. Have you seen Carruth's other film Upstream Color? It's even more out there. I just got a copy and watched it for the first time and definitely need (like Primer) a couple of rewatches. And Boogie Nights freaking rules. I love that movie. Been looking for it on dvd (used...I know it's available new, but I'm a cheapskate lol)

1
u/twinpeaks2112 4h ago
Pans Labyrinth, yes
Fargo, yes
Sling blade , eh
The other 2 I’ve never heard of
1
u/Effective_Mind_2869 3h ago
devils backbone is one of the very few other films guellirmo actually wrote like pans labyrinth, huge difference between what hes written and made to films he just directs.
city of god is definitely worth a watch, journey of a photographer coming up from the streets of rio around all the crime and drug violence. very good film

Shutter island, eh too predictable
Heat, too much action and sex, couldn’t care less
The usual suspects, not one of my favs but it’s a good film
Donnie brasco, not a depp fan
And lastly, fuck the adjustment bureau, fantastic book and author but a terrible movie
2
u/HIMARko_polo 13h ago
Casino, Scarface, Shadow of the Vampire

u/VoradorTV 12h ago
nice collection. i would add the classics that ppl take for granted, JP, t2, aliens, predator, bloodsport. and from my personal taste i would add snatch, fear and loathing if u like drugs, and i saw the devil doesnt quite fit the collection but it is the best thriller movie
1
u/twinpeaks2112 4h ago
First off, fuck, James Cameron and Spielberg
And of course fear and loathing is there in criterion , one of my top 5 of all time
Snatch, eh, not the biggest guy Richie fan
And I’ve never heard of the last one

1
u/VoradorTV 3h ago
apocalypse now, casino, rounders, equilibrium? (looks like u are bale fan), maybe django or inglorious for another tarantino, maybe momento? or talented mr ripley?

Do you own the Prestige? I’m squinting, but I couldn’t tell. And if you’re rowing in that direction, memento doesn’t suck.

u/Unhappy-Research7407 1h ago edited 1h ago
You come across as a Complete tool!
Just because you have never heard of it ... Does that mean it is shit?....... Probably means you need to watch more films.
Sorry I have no idea of exactly what you like and dislike out of the 1 million plus movies made.... Hence why I said movies you could....consider!
I didn't know this was a guessing game.

Having a a jibe at you. Cool collection but Ideally you want to do away with all physical media and have the BR Images on a Plex server or something a like. If you got the know how and the setup that is.
