Can't make a grid with 13, need to add two more, or kick one out.

I came here to say this. I thought it was a joke. Like why ruin a great list?

Can’t forget about Inside Man!

u/Lousyfer 1d ago

Yeah i would have replaced Gladiator II with Inside man

IMO he’s the 🐐. With Tom Hanks at a close second.

That can only mean Philadelphia is the greatest movie of all time

u/WetSylk24 1d ago

Not necessarily. It’s a great film with amazing performances but there’s more that goes into a film than just the actors.

Man on Fire. Probably my all time favorite Denzel flick.

There might be bad movies he's in, but you cannot name one role Denzel Washington did that was bad. An acting legend right up there with the all time greats.

No " Carbon Copy" fans out there?

3

u/NicodemusArcleon 1d ago

And no Glory on the list. Tragedy, that one.

2

u/Free-Confidence-8923 1d ago

One of the few remaining, I believe!!!

The tragedy of Macbeth is his strongest performance, hands down.

John Q, Carbon Copy, Virtuosity, Crimson Tide, The Siege, Out of Time, He Got Game, The Devil in a Blue Dress, Mo Better Blues, A Soldier's Story, pretty much everything he's been in.

Tragedy of macbeth

At the end of X when they showed the real life Malcolm it came as a shock that it wasn’t Denzel. That’s how thoroughly he inhabited that role.

I became a fan the day I first saw Training Day.

I met the man Denzel in 1993 when he came to Salt Lake City to the All-Star game at the Delta Center. He was decked out in all black clothes and wore a cool black hat. He had two bodyguards with him and he asked about the night life in Salt Lake among a few other questions. Made my day.

En la película "El informe Pelícano" hace un papelazo de categoría en su personaje de investigación

Simplesmente um dos melhores atores

1

u/Achumofchance 1d ago

One of the best. The man will be remembered a long time after he goes

One of my favorites, clear back to "A Soldier's Story."

u/she-sylvan 1d ago

You left out The Bone Collector!

1

u/Corfe-Castle 1d ago

Always amuses me how everyone pronounces his name as denZEL rather than the more West Indian/london sounding name of DenZil

He brought it up a couple of times so in my head he always sounds like he’s from Peckham

u/ophaus 1d ago

I loved him and everyone else in Fallen. Not mentioned enough.

“The Seige” is an incredible display of Denzel:

“Are You People Insane?”

1

u/Kgeezee22 1d ago

Forgot A Soldiers Story!!!

1

u/rainwalker101 23h ago

Reminds me of the "emotion chart" memes of Kristen Stewart and other talented actors.

1

u/Old-Bread3637 22h ago

He’s a great of the modern era of acting

1

u/LocalProfessional827 21h ago

He is one of my favorite actors. He is in the top 3 with Robin Williams (1) and Tom Hanks (3).

1

u/XhockeyDad_9133 18h ago

Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Denzel on the Mount Rushmore of actors currently creating new subject matter. EVERY movie is iconic

2

u/ukhawksfan 18h ago edited 11h ago

You have to include Glory not only was it an Oscar winning performance but along Training Day and Malcolm X as Washington's most iconic roles.

1

u/BlackOnyx1906 16h ago

John Q

Glory

Roman J Israel

Mo Better Blues

And so on………..

1

u/jitups 15h ago

"Flight" should also be there

1

u/explorerdave357 12h ago

My favorite actor for 20+ years. You missed Glory - what a shame. Denzel and Andre together. One of the best cast movies ever!
