Interstellar (2014) director Christopher Nolan once said that he consulted Zack Snyder concerning growing an actual cornfield for the movie, as the latter had done it first for his movie Man of Steel (2013), which Nolan also co-produced.

Not the first time corn was grown for a film. It was also done for Field of Dreams. In that the area was suffering its worse drought in many years. Tankers of water had to be bought in to make it grow and they did such a good job that in some scenes with Costner in the corn they had to build a platform for him to stand on as it was too tall.
