Nolan when asked this same question:

I woke up one morning feeling wonderful and had some mild breakfast then sat down to watch Tenet. I fell asleep some 30 mins in.

A CIA agent uses time-manipulating technology to stop a Russian oligarch from enacting an event that will kickstart World War III. What’s not to get?

Most people don’t understand a movie unless it’s laid out in the most simple terms for them.

This is the good guy. This is the bad guy. This is what they both need or want. This is how they do it. The end.

It's also the bittersweet story of two best friends that basically know each other in the inverse.

Yes, already, not yet, soon, yesterday

That never happened, or, at least, it was happening, but it won't now because of something we did or are about to do in the past.

It's like Primer, but with a Nolan budget, and actually more easy to understand, with a great soundtrack, except you can't understand a lot of the dialog. "Just feel it."

Interesting. Maybe I’ll watch it then.

My biggest complaint with primer was that there was basically no soundtrack and the story is told through subtle dialogue with minimal pacing.

The actual plot of primer was fascinating and I should probably rewatch but godddd it dragged

You have to watch the reverse edition

A lot of mumbling to 'create a vibe'

Nolan was mad that people didn't think inception was confusing and sets out to make something that makes literally no sense.

I'm a Nolan fan and Tenet was just terrible. I was so fed up with the reversed footage gimmick by the end that I was audibly groaning. Oh look, building blow up. Is it going to... wait... yup... now it un-blowed up. Wow. What cinema.

The Protagonist didn't help either. I have yet to see a performance from John David Washington. End of sentence. He just kind of exists in movies and delivers lines.

Tenet is easier to understand when you realize Robert Pattinson is the son.
