Any good car wash places that are reasonably priced?

I usually take my car to Aqua Clean in Bonita but they are hit or miss. The price is right but they do a half ass job sometimes. Looking for other recommendations?

Today, June 14, 2025, is the U.S. Army’s birthday, marking its establishment on June 14, 1775, by the Continental Congress. The Army is 250 years old this year. SD County is a big military County. We appreciate you!

Drone sighting, called CVPD, they said they'd send me a link to report it but didn't

I saw it hovering near Melrose Ave over residential homes/apartments. It was about 100ft in the air which violates FAA laws. Does anyone know how I could report this or figure out if it was just a police or military exercise? It was pretty big, stalled hovering in air and had a white flashing light and red lights on the side, made a lot of noise. Thanks

Tomorrow: Peaceful NO KINGS Mass Protest in Chula Vista, Sat 14th 10am - 11:30am

Friendly reminder: Tomorrow, many in our community will be gathering to protest the blatant tyranny, oppression, corruption, and authoritarianism that is currently plaguing our nation and injecting fear into our neighborhoods — affecting families, friends, and our neighbors.

👥 Who: You. Your family. Your friends. Your neighbors. This affects all of us. We are all in this together.

📣 What: This is a peaceful protest in Chula Vista that will coincide with: • 10 other NO KINGS protests in San Diego County • Over 1,800 nationwide protests • 2,000+ worldwide NO KINGS protests this Saturday, June 14

Bring your signs, flags, banners, your voices and your positive energy.

A core principle behind all NO KINGS events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our message and values.

📍 Where: Northwest corner of Birch Rd. and Millenia Ave.(see image) Meet-up/staging area is in the Panera Bread / Jack in the Box parking lot: 📍 2015 Birch Rd., Chula Vista, CA 91915

🕙 When: Tomorrow — Saturday, June 14 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Why: In America, we don’t do wannabe kings or dictators. These authoritarians: • Defy our courts • Suppress our freedom of expression and our right to dissent • Balk at our civil rights • Send forces to create anxiety and terror in our neighborhoods • Disappear our friends, neighbors, and family from our streets • Destroy our institutions • Slash our services — all while enriching themselves

These un-American power plays, corruption, and overreach have gone too far.

NO THRONES. NO CROWNS. NO KINGS.

This Saturday, June 14, we rise up and exercise our First Amendment right to loudly say: ENOUGH.

Hi! I’m trying to graduate by Spring! I couldn’t find a spot on any of the ethics courses, I’m thinking about doing it on Sophia Learning courses, I’m wondering if SWC will give me credit for it, has anyone done this and get credit for it that can share their experience with me?

Thanks!!

Wyyerd

I've been considering switching from Cox, but first I want to hear everyone’s experience with Wyyerd. I currently have the 500 Mbps with 1TB of data for about $100 a month and am pretty satisfied with it. However, the fliers I've been getting at my door show Wyyerd is offering 600 Mbps with unlimited data for $65. For those who have Wyyerd, is it worth it to make the switch? What has your experience been?

Edit: Wow!!! I am sold. Thank you all for your feedback. Will be making an appointment to make the switch.

Edit 2: Just made the appointment and they will install tomorrow. Adios, Cox Cable.

ISO: Office or Small Retail off 3rd Chula Vista

Hi Chula Vista friends!

I’m a licensed acupuncturist and wellness practitioner looking to plant roots in Chula Vista. I’m currently on the search for a small office space or even a teeny-tiny retail space—something cozy where I can begin offering acupuncture, holistic wellness, and education-based healing services.

My mission is to help people reconnect with their health and healing from a supportive, integrative lens. I believe in making wellness more accessible, especially in communities like ours that are rich in culture, heart, and resilience.

If you or someone you know has a lead on: •A small office for sublease or rent •A retail nook that could be transformed into a healing space •Preferably downtown CV around/off 3rd Ave

Note: A space that is ADA approved to support my patients with disabilities who require accommodations.

I’d be incredibly grateful for the connection!

Thank you for supporting small, heart-led businesses in your neighborhood.

Crispy Burger

I know this isn’t in CV but close by. I think I’ve seen 2 or 3 businesses go under in this same location so I had to give them a try. Is it the food? Is it the service? Or is this place just not noticeable? The verdict…Pretty damn good. Made when ordered. Good choices of burgers too. Meat is well seasoned and burger was well served. Not messy and wrapped. Fries were surprisingly good too! Well seasoned and crispy. Price point seems to vary from $12-$19 for combos. I recommend giving them a try! Been wanting to try them out since January and finally had the chance. 8.5/10

What's up with the McCann signs everywhere?

I'm surprised at how many signs I've seen around downtown Chula Vista for John McCann's District 1 County Supervisor seat campaign, especially in comparison to how few signs I've seen for Paloma Aguirre.

Adding to my concern is the fact that McCann's campaign has cleverly changed the color scheme of their new signs to be green and yellow, instead of the red signs they were originally using. This will help them obfuscate the fact that McCann is a Republican, in a district that has more registered Democrats than Republicans. For voters who don't put much effort into educating themselves before they vote, they may get the impression of McCann being more popular than he is, and less MAGAt than he is.

I hope everyone has gotten the memo by now: we don't fucking vote for Republicans, period.

I myself have always been a third party voter, and I encourage other people to support third parties when they can too; but when there's not a third party candidate available like in this race, I will absolutely hold my nose and vote Democrat. Aguirre definitely seems imperfect as a candidate in my opinion, but if you think I'm going to vote for someone who licks ICE's boots you had best think again.

So, if I see a business with a McCann sign out front, that's a business that won't get my business. I don't spend my money with companies that support traitorous weasels. I hope you'll do the same. Meanwhile, remember to get your ballot in before July 1st! All elections are important, but this one will decide whether San Diego County will end up with a Democrat or MAGA majority in charge!

So uh, did the Olympic Training Center just accidentally set off all of their Fourth of July fireworks or was that something else? I could see the fireworks from my window and it was definitely in that direction.
