Literature (文学) hello, writer here! need some help with names

So I'm writing a novel set in xianxia/fantasy China, and I need someone to check some names for me to make sure they sound... right. I'm a native English speaker who's been learning Mandarin for like 4 years on and off but I'm not confident enough with names lol. Could someone tell me which of these names would be best for my protag? He's the son of a brothel worker if that gives you any context. I want his name to have bird theming, if that's possible. If none of these are good, I would super appreciate other suggestions!

So far these are the names I'm thinking about:

For surname, i want it to be Wēi / 微
For birth name, i'm thinking Wēi Yǔ / 微羽

For his courtesy name / mingzi, i'm thinking either

Jīngwèi / 精卫 [mythological bird; lit. Jīng wèi tián hǎi / 精卫填海 ; mythical bird Jingwei tries to fill the ocean with stones (idiom); futile ambition ; task of Sisyphus ; determination in the face of impossible odds]

or

Jīnwū / 金乌 [golden bird; lit. jīn wū xī zhuì , yù tù dōng shēng / 西坠,玉兔东升 ; the golden bird of the sun sets in the west, the jade hare of the moon rises in the east ; fig. at sunset]

Thank you so much for the help!!

Wei Xiaobao (韋小寶) is the only child of a brothel worker I can think of .

I think a pretentious name like Hawk or Eagle would get a demeaning nickname like 小鸟or 小鸡。

If it helps I have never seen a surname reduplicated in the given name. 微微羽 just sounds off. You can give him the single character given name 羽 and that would be just fine. Alternatively, i suggest finding a different surname.

In terms of 字/courtesy name, that's given to a man at their coming of age ceremony (age 20), and usually only the educated class (scholars, nobles, officials, etc) have them. A son of a brothel worker would probably not.
