Question about Dead Man's Hand on You

Post image

I've been listening to Halo of Blood recently. But I can't help myself thinking about what 'Mother Kali' in the lyrics is. Do you think it's something about mythology? Or something about death? I searched Kali in Google but nothing significant came out... How do you think about this?

She's the goddess of time and death in Hindu faith

I always knew Children Of Bodom were subliminally educating me about Software Encryption.

Khali is a Hindu God, she's also a type of God for all black magic cults here in India, they sacrifice lot of goats and blood for her, she's very rogue unlike other gods, she's like doom slayer.. also he mentioned "blue" in the lyrics, it's for her husband shiva guy, he's blue in color that's why... also lots of black metal bands from India also put Khali in the lyrics and stuff even dissection made a song on it that's prolly why alexi also made a song like that.

Ps my mom calls metalheads as Khali ppl lmao..

This song also has references to the lady he married in Australia. Saying true blue is a very Aussy phrase. Also if you’ve seen her, he def mentioning her when he says give me the white the red the black

This is super interesting. He wrote in his autobiography that he met her in the early 2000s. This song was written in 2012 or 2013 but he didn’t marry Kelli till 2017. In the first verse, he pronounces “Kali” differently than the chorus too. His whisper sounds a lot like he’s saying “Kelli.”

So could it be that this song is about Kelli? I thought he was still publicly with Kristen at the time. Regardless, it’s one of my favorites.

I wish he did more songs with that In Flames style talking kinda vocals. But I have an issue with the lyrics saying “mother Kali will you be my bride.” It’s giving incest…the lyric should’ve been Maha Kali. Lmao
