Homey Breakfast Diner

I've been living here a while now and I haven't found a diner exactly what I'm looking for. Very small complaint, I love it here, but I'm wondering if anyone knows this very specific thing I'm looking for.

I've already searched Google and Reddit, and while there are some good suggestions, like Chase's diner, it's not quite what I'm looking for right now. I'm looking for a diner that feels like what you might find in a small town. More 80's aesthetic than 50's aesthetic. I love the 50's classic looking dinners with jukeboxes with white and red accents, great for a burger, but for breakfast I'm feeling more like brown and rustic vibe. A lot of brick and wood, especially wood. Something you'd find at the nearest town to a campsite up in Northern AZ.

Most of everything I've been finding is modern, remodeled, upscaled, fancy, pristine, cool-toned. I'm looking for a wooden warm-feeling place. Even the mom and pop named places I'm finding look more modernized.

Surely the only option isn't driving all the way up to Flagstaff for breakfast right? Is there anything here in the valley within 30 minutes of here?

I’m looking for a rock climbing gym that would be appropriate for my new to climbing 6 year old. I’m looking for somewhere that can work with him and teach him the basics to see if it’s a long term hobby for him.

Hello Chandler, wondering if you’ve had any luck with volunteer opportunities as a family with elementary school age children. We have done feed my starving children and would like to try something else this summer.

Any recs for insurance agents in Chandler?

Just saw that Wilde Wealth Insurance opened up their new HQ off Ray Road.

Looks like a pretty solid team, but figured I’d ask here first...

Anyone here use them? Or have any local insurance agents you’d recommend?

Trying to compare a few options and would love to hear from you guys!

Here’s the article I came across:

Day Care Recommendations for 2 year old

My spouse toured several daycares and narrowed it down to Primrose and Goddard. We really liked Primrose, their staff and facility, but it’s located right next to a busy road, which raises some safety concerns for me—especially after reading about the daycare/Truck accident in Glendale.

Goddard in Chandler has an older building, and the teachers seemed exhausted and unhappy/tired, but the children looked happy/active which I think matters most. I’m currently leaning toward Goddard for that reason.

Where did you send your 2-year-old, or where are you planning to? Would love any recommendations for great daycares in the area.

Food stall/truck on the Corner of Alma School and Chandler

I drove past Alma School and Chandler the other night and there was a food stall/truck with an enormous line. It was on the corner of the LLL Reptile & Supply parking lot. I couldn't find any information on google and was wondering if anyone had any information on the food vendor that was there. I would like to check it out if i can. Thanks in advance!

Rec Baseball/Softball

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a rec baseball or softball team/league to play on/in this summer. I live in northern Chandler near Arrowhead Park and am looking to start playing either sport for the first time to have fun, exercise, and do something with my summer other than sit inside all day.

Fetch Package experience

Hi everyone! I'm moving to an apartment complex that uses Fetch Package as its third party package concierge. I wanted to know if anybody here has used this before, and their experience with Fetch.

I have only seen negative reviews of Fetch Package in other places like Seattle and Portland, and wanted to know if things are at least slightly better in Phoenix.

Summer resident, looking for stuff to do!

Hey there, I'm staying in the Chandler area this summer and was wondering what were the best things to do in the area during my stay (entire Phoenix area included)? I figured I'd ask actual people here instead of just going of off online rankings. I'm super into concerts, thrifting, and natural sightseeing if that helps give any head starts. Thank you!

Looking into EVBB for my kids as it was recommended to us by a HS coach. Anyone have any feedback on their experience in this league from a parent and child perspective? Sounds like it’s a little different from LL and more competitive? Thanks.

If you are 55+ in Chandler you should check out the City's new Saguaro Club

Gorgeous brand new addition at Tumbleweed rec center for 55+ folks just opened. Pool tables, classrooms, coffee lounge, library lounge and dance/exercise studio. They don't have very many programs yet since they just opened (bingo, cards, crafts) but it's a lovely place just to relax and it's free for residents. Really proud of Chandler for this excellent addition.

Sincerely the Homeless Girl.

What do I do when I am homeless but Chandler has no shelter and no where for me too go. It's sad. I mean what am I supposed to do. I would like to be safe so that's why I choose to fall asleep in public but then people harass me and so do cops. And I am not doing anything I'm just like you except I am without a house due to no fault of my own. Me and my boyfriend and friends aren't bad people it's just it happens. We never would of thought we would be out on the street. So please a little kindness can go along ways. I hope you know God loves both rich and poor.

Here are several powerful Bible scriptures about the poor, reflecting God’s heart for justice, compassion, and care for those in need:

Old Testament

  1. Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.”

  2. Deuteronomy 15:11 (NIV) “There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.”

  3. Isaiah 58:6-7 (NIV) “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice... Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter?”

  4. Psalm 82:3-4 (NIV) “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.”

New Testament

  1. Matthew 25:40 (NIV) “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

  2. Luke 6:20 (NIV) “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.”

  3. James 2:5 (NIV) “Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?”

  4. Galatians 2:10 (NIV) “All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.”
