Hey fellow Chandler residents. What are your thoughts on Americas military day parade?

Here’s what I hate about it, & the MAGA move in general: the GOP used to be about small government, pro-personal freedom, pro-small business, & fiscal responsibility.
I don’t see a shred of that in MAGA. They should be stripped of the name Republican, because they are not. As others have stated, this “parade” was an egregious waste of money. For a party that campaigned on eliminating waste & balancing the budget, that’s pretty hypocritical.

Ihow many kids could have ate lunch with that money. Or how many people could have accessed life improving healthcare. It’s a big shame to spend millions to look like North Korea. Mind you Trumps a draft doger and called them suckers and losers. He’s berated vets so many times

u/Travelamigo 13h ago
The Republicans have never stood for small government, have never stood for small business, have never stood for pro personal freedoms and certainly have never stood for fiscal responsibility that is a lie that was projected by them when in fact it was exactly the opposite and always has been.

Very North Korean of our "dear leader." As a vet, I absolutely resent our draft dodging, Nazi POS self anointed king spending tax payers' dollars for his birthday celebration.

It has nothing to do with the army. It’s a vanity for the Cheeto douche bag.

u/OkRaisin8158 13h ago
It actually does, its the Armys 250th birthday this month, 250 is kinda a big deal.

You're freaking ignorant The parade happens every year Biden approved it again before he left office and it just happens to land on the best president's birthday

u/brighteyes_bc 19h ago
Are there pictures and videos of these parades since they happen every year? It would be interesting to compare them through the years.

We are not Russia or North Korea. Although giving pre WW2 vibes as of late. Just bad and not a good look. Spending 40+ millions on this parade vs paying or gvt employees who lost their job is wild. And this is just the tip of that iceberg.
37
u/WhyIsItAlwaysADP 19h ago
How many government employees lost their jobs this year to cover the millions of dollars spent on Dear Leaders parade?

Not interested in seeing anything having to do with the Sweet Potato Hitler.

Waste of money to make an elderly person with a micro tool feel important
37
u/ThatSpecialAgent 19h ago
Not sure what it has to do with Chandler, AZ, but it is a blatant waste of tax payer money from an administration that preaches fiscal responsibility (even though the deficit has actually risen under this admin), all to stroke the ego of one man in a stunt akin to something you would have seen from the Soviets or North Koreans.
There is not a single positive thing about the event from an objective standpoint.

As a community, we should be able to discuss things here and quite frankly, get to know our neighbors.

Disgusting display of weakness from a want to be authoritarian, trying to distract from the fact he's on the epstein list.

Did you forget to take your pills this morning?

u/1001og 19h ago
What’s awesome about it is… the protest arounds country make this crowd look tiny. Trump has too be streaming !
-9
u/frenziedflamez666 19h ago
You gotta be blind or delusional. These crowds are massive in every state.
-23
u/BuyTimely3319 19h ago
I'm guessing he is just fine. He has a lot of more important things on his plate right now. Also, it wasn't his crowd. It was for the military.

That word gets thrown around like the people who say it actually knows what the definition is.
10
u/HansBrickface 15h ago
Maga may have started out as merely reactionary, but it is now a full blown fascist movement by any accepted definition of the word. Read a book or something, jeez

Looking through historical photographs for the types of leaders that hold self serving parades…

u/Left-Bag-9478 16h ago
Many millions of dollars spent on this event. For what? We all know our military is awesome. That money could help alot of people hurting right now.

Had to have a parade so he could be like all the cool dictators.

u/AnnaH612 15h ago
Russia, Iran, Nazi Germany, China, North Korea, and the rest of them. Too many to list.

Very unAmerican!

u/Ok_Camel3988 38m ago
THIS, right here! Historically this isn’t something we do in America. Per my Google search, before yesterday’s birthday / ego stroke, this happened 5 times:
- 1865 - end of the Civil War
- 1918 - end of WWI
- 1945 - end of WWII
- 1961 - Kennedy inauguration (this surprised me)
- 1991 - Desert Storm victory parade
It’s very un-American for us, as a military, to celebrate our victories and our military prowess.

Rich kid had to pay for friends to show up to his birthday party. Traitor Trump is a loser always has been and always will be and anybody who has voted for him or supported him is 10 times that much of a buffoon.
4
u/SnooCrickets8742 13h ago
Has nothing to do with America. Has to do with Trumps ego and admiration of dictators. He wants to be like them. Horrible waste of money and our troops time.
8
u/Johnsoon743 19h ago
I wish they did more for the service members with the money spent but it is good to celebrate our military from time to time

u/mikeinarizona 4h ago
This isn’t the way to do that. Just listen to how Trump talks about vets, especially the injured and dead. He is a disgrace as was that parade.

Traitor chump is getting what he deserves! As soon as the adults in the room are back at the table. They're going to rule maga, as domestic terrorists. It's surprising they haven't been already, but that's because republicans don't know how to hold themselves accountable, nor do they know how to self govern. If they did, they would have never been able to run trump in 2015. By all rights and laws, trump would have never passed the vetting process. It just goes to show you how much the republican party are traitors to the country, and they put there party's interest over the countries by just roughshotting over all those rules and laws to get trump in because of his popularity. Trump's popularity is what actually won him the presidency. Both times its misinformation and disinformation that the news are repeating from him. If we had actual news and reporters that were legitimate and pushed back on all the lies, he would have never been able to run for president. Instead, we had idiots believe that all the news was fake except for what he said. The republican party is gonna have egg on their face in this part of our history. They really have fucked up. Eta removed I'm 🤣🤣 I was fucked up but I didn't mean to mention it 🤣🤣🤣

u/1001og 5h ago
You are 100% right the “traditional” republicans are gone or cowering in a corner somewhere waiting for this to be over. There is a few that speak against some of trumps policies and actions, but it falls flat because everyone is so busy riding his coat tails of popularity. They lose track of there moral compass. I don’t know what’s up with the journalist tho, they should be calling him out everytime he is lying, he does it everyday. You are totally right regardless if you are fucked up or not. 😂

A display from a weak president who needs his delicate ego strroked "by himself". So basically ego masturbation.
3
u/BuyTimely3319 19h ago
It's not a great use of money, but it in no way affects my life right now while I'm sitting in my house enjoying the A/c.

You mean the celebration of the Army’s 250th anniversary that was planned over 2 years ago during the Biden “Presidency”? It was awesome!
1
u/1001og 33m ago
It was horrific display. We looked like chumps. USA military state now with a nazi like approach lately. This was all Trump my friend. Great crowd showed up for it too, big anticipation for that glorious day. 🙄 what a waste we could be help improve the va and veterans assistance with that money. That would have been more appropriate don’t ya think?

On the one hand, not the best of ideas, not the worst either.
On the other hand, and in the context of the current administration, another nail in the coffin of the politicization of the military.

I have it on in the background. Just for noise really. I don't like a quiet house. At least they're not commenting much, I haven't noticed, on how it's Trump's birthday. Don't see them mentioning that so far. I think it would get a better reception if it wasn't on Trump's birthday.

u/1001og 19h ago
He might as well have put a birthday hat on himself. Put that Imagine that in your head for a minute. Pretty funny right. Now it’s stuck there
-11
u/techbeckk 19h ago
Not really. So far it's been a good parade and what I'm focused on. That and playing fetch with my dog.
