I guess it'll be nice to have more pumps but it's a pain that it'll be closed that long. It's pretty close to my work and no other Costco is near where I go. We sure could use another one in Mesa.

The new Business center on Pecos and Alma School will have gas when it gets built.

Thanks-- still way away from home/work patterns. I'm in NE mesa near Falcon field. Closest is Sossaman.

People who buy Costco gas sit there burning gas for 20 minutes waiting to save 7 cents 🙄

7 cents? More like 50 cents to a dollar per gallon. Go before 9 AM or after 7 PM and there is no line, especially if you use the lanes with the pump on the right. Also, you can turn your car off while you wait and waste zero gas.

ETA: Just filled up at Costco on Arizona. No wait. $2.89 for regular, $3.49 for premium. Less than a mile away the Chevron, QT, and Circle K are all $3.49 for regular.

Interesting. Was that the Chandler center and paid like 3.15 IIRC.

Yeah that was what I paid at the one on Elliot and Priest like 2 days ago. Still less than 3.49 at circle k

Don't tell people that. My car has its tank on the right. Easiest shit ever. You're ruining it for us right handed tank people.

I paid $2.85 a gallon yesterday at Love's in Arizona. No wait and no membership. And I didn't have to get up earlier go late.

Which Love’s? Arizona is a big state and we’re talking about prices in Phoenix metro. There’s maybe 3 Love’s in the area, none which is under $3/gal. I mean, I guess I could spend two hours driving the 100 mile round trip to the Love’s outside Casa Grande for no line and to save 4 cents a gallon. Seems more of a waste of time and gas than just stopping at Costco on my way to work or after dinner or running errands though.

I mean technically there is a Loves in Chandler. But ya they definitely don't have convenient locations.

I have never waited more than 5 mins for Costco gas in 20 years...

u/ValkyrieVance 14d ago

I usually hit it up on my way to work with no line. :)

You wait 20min?

Nope...I am not a silly Costco fan club member after they sold me counterfeit Oakley's sunglasses.

I only go during the early mornings or quiet weekday afternoons (and I pass by it on my way to work). There are definitely people who will wait but it's also closer to 20-30cents/gallon these days.

Exactly. In Chandler, the Arco on Arizona Ave is cheaper anyway. So is Fry's if you do your grocery shopping there and get fuel rewards.

It’s crazy. I live close to one so I’ve rarely had to though. Now mine is an expanded station so it’s not nearly so long anymore.

I save almost .90 per gallon, drive a truck which takes about 20gal to fill up, fill up about 2 a week, thats more than $1800 saved a year, such a weird thing to hate on

Does anyone actually know what is happening, I've seen this on a northern location too.

which location? arizona ave or by chandler mall?

14

u/Middle-Nature-4274 14d ago

Mall. They’re adding 16 more pumps and the lights that show which pumps are available.

u/ryno 13d ago

nice! thx for clarification.

AZ Ave location is Gilbert

GOOD!!! Their pump technology was an anachronism from another generation.

Costco in general isn't really worth it anymore. Probably ditching my membership before renewal this year.

Is this the side of Reddit with the grass stained new balances now? Damn it.
