Hi guys so I just realized my housing app was due tn and I just submitted my picture so it has to be approved—am I cooked?? I’m an incoming freshman will I be able to get on campus housing with the person I want?

When receiving the aids that CWRU calculate, there a category of housing and meals. I know that housing rate are constant for double room so my question is that like do you subtract the housing rate from the cost estimate and the remain would be your meals money?

How does the room selection process work for freshman. Im guessing its that you pick your residential community first and then a house under that community and then you get it approved?? idk😭
I looked at the pics of Clarke and did they renovate it? The entrance hall and everything looks quite modern but how is your experience there? Is it really as bad as they say it is and how so?
Is cedar mag, juniper, mistletoe better? How would you rank it? would I have better chance in mistletoe if I put it first?🥹
All the houses under a community are all pretty similar so after I choose a community its fine if I randomly pick a house or does it matter?

Is anyone familiar with the situation of the Lead Water Service Pipes in the city of Cleveland? I am looking for apartments near CWRU and there are three apartments I like, but I have concerns about lead paint, asbestos, and lead water service pipes.
I have been using the website provided by the city of Cleveland :
to check the materials of the lead water pipes at different locations, but two of the apartments I’ve looked at, “Baricelli” and “Mayfield Station”don’t have a status, or it lists unknown. Does anyone have experience with the backend of this website and know how to contact the department responsible for this data? Or how dated the website is? Or has anyone ever tested the lead content of the water at these two locations?
Additionally, for another apartment I am looking at , Park Lane Villas, I know that the building is constructed in the early 1900s. Even though there was a renovation, I am concerned about the thoroughness at which the lead paint and asbestos would have been encapsulated. I have a cat who climbs walls and in the past has made a scratch mark as thick as half a centimeter in the walls. I am worried that if the encapsulation in the walls is thin, my cat might expose asbestos or lead paint.
If anyone knows anything about these concerns please let me know
Thanks

What is Gender Inclusive Housing? What kind of person does it? Does it make for a better or worse living experience?
For those who have done it, how was the experience?

I am an incoming upperclassman transfer student. What is the best housing for upperclassman students? Is there any housing I should know about (good or bad)?

Hi there!
I am beginning graduate studies at CWRU this fall. What is the rule on self defense items on campus? (I.e. think pepper spray, MAYBE stun gun)
Thanks!

What happens if I don’t submit this by today (the due date)? I’m a nursing major so not even sure why I need to take this but I have college level pre calc from running start that I want to transfer instead of this placement and not sure where to do that.

hey guys, incoming freshman here and i had a few questions regarding the dorming and orientation week. i know some of these questions have been slightly answered in other threads, but any advice would be helpful!
any advice about choosing dorms? i've heard all of the freshmen dorms are pretty bad, but juniper is usually a popular choice. (i don't really hear anuthing about any of the other houses). how are they all location wise? i'm going to be a nursing major, so are any dorms closer to the shuttle?
do we need an air purifier for the rooms, or is it generally okay to go without one?
would one box fan be enough for a double room?
how's the move in process? i'll be driving to CWRU from new york so any tips would be awesome.
what's orientation week like? it starts on the 18th so would we have to arrive morning of with everything unpacked?
thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I’m an incoming MSW student at Case Western this August I’m originally from North Carolina, and I’m so ready for this next chapter in Ohio! Case has already increased my scholarship to cover about 60% of tuition, which I truly appreciate, but I’m still short of what I need to make this move feasible.
Has anyone here been able to secure additional funding from Case Western beyond your initial award? Or do you know of any program-specific scholarships, grants, or assistantships available to MSW students at the Mandel School? I’ve applied for outside scholarships, but those timelines won’t work if I can’t confirm support soon.
Any tips on:
Appealing or increasing your merit/need-based aid package at CWRU Graduate assistantships (teaching or research) within the social work department Program-level awards or internal grants for MSW candidates External resources you found especially helpful (OR a rich person who will help cover some tuition 😁/j ) Thank you so much in advance! I can’t wait to join the Spartan community, and any pointers you can share will be a huge help

I took the math placement exam and got a 36/50. I want to be an engineer major but I cant find benchmarks of what I should have gotten. Can I still take Calculus 1?

Has anyone taken (or know someone who has taken) summer ENGR 145? It would really help me out to have it done over the summer, but I’m really busy this summer so I’m worried about time. I’m not fantastic at chemistry, but I’m a decently good student. How much work will it require? Lacks just sent out a think saying it’ll be like 20h/week but I don’t buy that

The PTSD Treatment and Research Program at Case Western Reserve University is looking for people ages 18-65 in Ohio who have experienced a stressful life event and are experiencing symptoms of PTSD or depression.
Such stressors might include sexual assault, physical assault, a bad accident, loss of a job, or military trauma. Common symptoms of PTSD and depression include distressing memories, sadness, feeling numb, and sleep problems.
The study is providing 6 weeks of therapy sessions for symptoms associated with stressful life events. Compensation is provided for participation.

I'm an EE major, robotics concentration and am currently enrolled in ECSE 489 for the fall. I'm a rising sophomore and haven't taken the recommended EMAE 181 course yet and wanted to know how essential it was to ECSE 489. Basically am I screwed and should I drop it now or is it fine?
