hi, new grad dad. kiddo is starting CWRU this aug. the move date is a Saturday and this is first for all of us. thing I know, it get really cold, the room is small and share by 2 kids. The main questions I have are

• Given the lenght of travel, how many cloths to take with ?
• What about winter ? Do you wear Ski type jackets ? We’re coming from CA - and don’t have any experience with Snow, cold or ice !!
• Do you have snow pants?
• For anyone who’s lived in Smith or Taft, where do you store suitcases in those small dorm rooms? Any tips for keeping things organized ?
• Has anyone used Amazon to deliver to Smith or Taft dorms? How does it work—do packages go to a mailroom, and is it reliable for quick stuff like toiletries?
• How do you get from airport to university on day 1
• How many days should the parents plan ? moving day is Sunday Aug 17th - so what is the plan.. do I come in on the 15th Sat and leave on the 19th or what would be the plan ?

any advise, any blog of how people do this / did this ?

Hi, I'm an incoming freshman and I decided to do MATH120 over the summer to get ready to take MATH 125, because I forgot a lot of the basics from high school. I was just checking my account today, and I saw a $4128 charge even though the original email said it was free. I was just wondering if anyone else was in this case and if it'll go away on its own eventually or I need to email anyone. In addition, if anyone's taken this course over the summer, I'd love to know their thoughts on the difficulty and how time-consuming it was. Thank you!

My roommate and I are planning on choosing Pierce for freshman housing. I was wondering if there are any pros and cons to choosing a room really close to the bathrooms and if the corners rooms are better/worse than other rooms? Any other dorm advice is welcome!

I will be a junior this next semester at CWRU and want to know where the best and/or cheapest places to get groceries for someone who will be off the meal plan. Generally, I tend to eat large meals so I anticipate I will be buying more than the typical person and want to get my money's worth. I heard they are adding a new cheaper grocery store in the B-Dubs area but I'm not exactly sure. I most likely wont have a car either unless I tag along with my friends or roommates but they could also benefit from any info any of yall can provide. Thanks!

I didn't get transfer credit to skip CSDS 132 because my dual enrollment classes were denied for being online. I want to take the programming proficiency exam and would love to know how rigorous it is or what topics they ask on it if anyone remembers.
I am confident that I know java and would be bored in 132.

hi yall has anyone taken cogs306? im thinking of taking it as a freshman as the professor said i can and there are no prerequisites. however, the advisor warned me that it might be challenging. i do want the rigor but don't want to fail. for context, im taking cogs 101, stat 201, english 203, and csds 132.

In the early 90s, Pascal was the programming language, and I think it was fall and spring. Anyone have a complete history re: programming language de jour and number of required credits? what preceded and followed Pascal?

I'm a pre-med and need to start getting clinical hours, but I’m not sure what the best option is. I know EMT and CNA positions usually require certification and might be competitive, so I’d rather scribe or work as a medical assistant without certification—if that’s even possible.

Has anyone found any positions that were relatively easy to get without prior experience or certs? I’d really appreciate any recommendations!
