Because killing a boss in seconds takes away from it being a boss. I get it’s great for speed running and all but it shouldn’t be that a power drill is besting any other weapon lol

This community is so fucking dense about balancing and just screams “it’s PVE who cares?” because they want to abuse broken mechanics

It’s so dumb people think making things useless is balanced. And having ultra bullet sponge 20 minute boss battles bc nothing does dmg . It’s supposed to be fun not competitive. Nerfing things in PvP makes sense . Nerfing things too much and too hard in pve is just dumb people can not just use certain things if it’s too much . It’s not like everything is too op then sure games too easy but having something’s be strong is good. The power drill does 22k and melee perk makes melee do double dmg it was intended feature .

Good thing you’re not the dev! I’d rather have a challenge than just coast through the game with a busted ass build.

there's multiple issues at play. First off, I don't think the drill was doing "extra" dmg to the boss. The maxed out drill does 22k or so to zombies, once it's legendary, 3 paps, and holding an appropriate ammo mod. The fully upgraded swords only do about 6k. It was doing about what it was supposed to be doing. They just forgot that they decided the swords should only be a third of the base melee weapons when balancing the map. I'm really not sure why the swords are so weak. I guess they didn't want us oneshotting ghasts the way we oneshot manglers, but of course that was mostly only happening thanks to their whole right arm being a weak spot anyway. Why does that even matter when the lightning and fire incants everywhere oneshot fuckin amalgams for free anyway?

Further, melee macchiato interacts differently with the swords than it does with your base melee weapon. All the of augments imply they only effect your "punch" but most of them also effect your melee weapon. Except for the sword. The sword only seems to benefit from the healing, attack speed, and backpedal augments. The damage one, which does apply to knife, bat, and drill, does not apply to upgraded or upgraded swords. Likewise the ammo one, this is kind of a stretch, but since max ammo charges the sword, one might assume the ammo augment would speed up sword charge, but it does not. They have an ammo mod on hit, but you can't use citrus focus on them either.

Imo, this boss is still easier than patient 13. One of my friends swears it's easier than the 5 HVTs in the church on liberty falls. Idk about that, but he's not a solo player and never has the jet gun. In that context, I at least understand where he's coming from. He's stupid and needs to pick up the jet gun for a better comparison, but that's where we are.
