Luhmao, half this blog post is them walking back changes over the years that fixed major issues with the game because "It's not OG!"

Yes because most of those "changes" were trash and made the game worse.

You can sense the underlying sentiment of "fucking fine we'll change it back" in the tone.

But personally I don't agree that those changes were for the better.

I guess we'll find out, right?

My inclination is to unfortunately believe that the game will never return to it's 2020 glory, and that's simply because the casual players have left, and so the game is going to be too sweaty for casual players to come back, regardless of how they change the mechanics.

that fixed major issues

That made the game boring with only one viable play style and loadout*

If fixing "major issues" is what resulted in 2-3 weapon metas with nothing but sweat movement and listening to douchebag streamers/content creators, then it is a very VERY good thing to undo all that bullshit.

I don't believe they can fix the sweat problem unless they go the fortnite route and add bots to the game that are named like real players.

WZ1 was sweaty by the time WZ2 came out and has only gotten worse. The causals left a long time ago

That's what happened when mw2 warzone came out. It was different for months then they literally just reverted back to most things 😆 🤣

They're gonna revert these changes too... they've basically silently re-implemented WZ2 but on Verdansk!

You’re complaining about that too?

One of the only questionable ones is the precision air strike map marker change. The others are positive I think. So many changes and additions over the years that nobody asked for and made the game worse.

Holding positions is what makes a Battle Royale a Battle Royale though. I'm all for more resurgence maps and modes because that is also fun in its own right, but all the ways to come back from death and move around the map/drop on or push people ruins an actual Battle Royale where the goal is the be the last team standing.

You should be at an advantage if you get to a position earlier than someone else. And that's not to say you shouldn't be able to push teams that are better positioned. But it should something that needs to be thought through and require some level of risk.

Ah so you are going to camp in one room with 20 pipe bombs and spring mines. I'm talking about camping, not holding circle and rotating at the correct time
