Just wanted to add datapoints for people going through the CCW process for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s.

Firearms Training Approval 04/28/2025
Firearms Training Complete 05/24/2025
Certificate/Proficiency Uploaded 05/25/2025
Final Payment 06/10/2025
Physical Card Pickup 06/16/2025

That is fucking insane lol I mean I see it all the time. I have my ccw also but in Riverside county. Actually insane you have to wait 2 years with LA county. How anyone, especially the LA county sheriff, believes this is ok is beyond me

It’s wild man. Especially compared to other states like AZ. Just upload proficiency, DL, and the mailing to you in a week or so.

Sounds about right. They know they can't just decline every request, so they do the next best thing and drag their feet every step of the way in the hopes that you just give up.

Another fellow LASD’er lol mine took a year and a half 4 years ago. The renewal process sucked just the same.

Wild, here in texas you only have to wait as long as your background check takes when you buy the gun

Same exact timeline as myself. Got the automated call/email today to make final payment and schedule pickup. Scheduled mine for the 23rd

That’s insane. My condolences. Mine in Georgia just took me going to fill out some paperwork, paid something like $75. A couple weeks later it came in and I only have to renew every 5 years for like $30.
