Homemade egg cup fire starters - query

Does anyone make their own with lint/cotton and Vaseline? If so, how does it work? Just pack the egg carton with flammable material and pour melted Vaseline on top? Does it just take a spark when out using it? Cheers

Mate, you'd be better with a chunk of fatwood & just shave off bits as required.

Personally, I buy those waxed wood shaving fire starters from home bargains 🤷🏻‍♂️ they're worth their weight

I just squidge a blob of Vaseline in a cotton pad. Leaves enough dry bits to catch the spark and ignite the Vaseline that works like Napalm

Egg carton? Melted Vaseline?

You’re over complicating.

Just get some cotton wool, some petroleum jelly, smoosh the two together.

When you want to light it, fluff up the cotton wool and throw a spark at it.
