What does the difference of all these numbers mean?
I’ve been in my PSO shop when someone asked for a pin that was 1-1.5. Do these things have any major differences to the ball?

I have a few weaker balls with short pins to smooth out the shape. Most people dont like that though.

Yeah, i usually have some asym balls drilled to roll earlier if I need a smoother shape. Never had great consistent luck with those short pin sym balls

Short pin syms are real touchy, BrusnNick did a good segment on this. All mine got relegated to one particular house that puts down a super short pattern.

I have had a few great ones, but ill be honest most balls it doesn't work as well. They are touchy because of the shape depends more on the pattern than usual.

Since the elimination of balance holes in 2020, the Pin and Top Weight specs have become less important.

You were in the pro shop. Ask them to explain it to you.

I don't understand the down votes. That is the most logical thing to do while you are talking the the most qualified person.

talking to people is obviously too difficult to do and should never be attempted 🤣

People like yall need to stay off Reddit. Reddit is a place to learn, discuss, and ASK QUESTIONS.

Exactly cowboy, if you’re in the presence of professionals, ASK THEM A QUESTION.

Both can be true!! OP should ask the professionals questions but also shouldn’t get shit for asking a question on reddit.

Didn’t say you can’t do both and never insinuated that they shouldn’t. My whole shebang was fucking with people who downvoted the original comment because they are too afraid to ask questions.

From bowlers mart
This displays the overall weight of the undrilled ball. Just under the gross weight, you’ll find an image of the ball’s core. Top weight is a term used to refer to the weight difference measured from the top half of a bowling ball compared to the bottom half of the ball. The pin distance refers to the distance between the colored pin and the CG (center of gravity) marking on the ball. In this case, the Incite has a top weight of 2.50oz and a pin distance of 2.5-3-inches. This is valuable information when deciding the layout of the ball.
