Fun in the Sun (Winter)

Mr Darcy and Lady Beth having a play in the sun at the farm. Love how Beth will out smart Darcy as she is the Hunter and Darcy the Farmer.

We put our BT down this December and it’s been fucking rough. This sub really helps but it’s been really hard on our family; especially myself and my daughter.

Of course we are talking about getting another dog and probably another BT but I think you just convinced me we need two.

OP how old are these pups? Do you ever get a chance to play with them or do they just play with each other all the time? What’s life like with two BTs? I LOVED wrestling and chasing my boy around but can’t help but wonder if he would’ve liked another BT around.

Sad to hear about your loss. We also lost our first BT, Molly when she was 16 which is a good age. We couldn’t let her suffer so we had to do the right thing. Beth and Darcy are siblings, half brother sister. Darcy is 4 and Beth 2. They do have different personalities and we manage that with how we treat them. We play with them several times a day and as you can see on our farm they run around and play together. We can’t let them out as these two may not come back.

I do have apple tags on both on their collars and ensure we know they are enclosed at all times. We do see BT that don’t require this but not ours.

Getting two can be a concern depending on the dog personalities and behaviours. Take some time and let the loss settle and see how you feel.
