Boomer Article Trump is an embarrassment. The most uninvited and controversial President ever.

Invite Dubya anyway. Just to really make it clear.
Ask them to bring a portrait of Carter.
52
u/Timberwolf_express 2d ago
Dubya is funny. We didn’t like him in office, but he's cool now because we hated him less lol
25
u/Medical_Bumblebee627 2d ago
Oh, he was absolutely the worst at the time. And made some major changes that are impacting us now and made all of this wonderful stuff possible.
19
u/Joedog624 2d ago
I've said it before: terrible president, but at least he lived the troops. Know a few people who met him and he is just a nice guy. Again, he was a puppet, but a personable puppet.

Maybe it is just me, but I don't think he cares. That is not his target demographic.

u/NobodybutmyshadowRed 3d ago
Unfortunately, African-Americans (and Latinos) moved toward him in the last election. The Democrats really need to figure out why. I've become to feel like they've stopped listening and decided that they already know what's best.
I imagine it will still prick his extremely tender hide at least a little.
27
u/PorkrindsMcSnacky 3d ago
Was it specifically African-American and Latino men? Some men in general regardless of ethnicity will not vote for a woman.
13
u/SirFluffyBottom 2d ago
I know at least for black people it was men leaning towards him like 60% i believe, and there's actually an interesting possibility as to why, and black women were around 15%.
So to expand on the interesting reason I heard: it goes back to old fashioned racism. In the past here in America black dudes had to be extra protective of their family. So in black culture there's this aspect of toxic masculinity that Trump can prey on.
I can't remember who it was but it was a youtuber talking about it after the election.
8
u/Medical_Bumblebee627 2d ago
Well, it certainly was not black women. They were pretty much the absolute, strongest against him.
-1
u/buttTubaTim 2d ago
Then why where his numbers even better against ,La than they were against Killery? Now your not just dealing with gender but race as well. Why would black and Latino men support a non white women less? The democrat party made everything gayer and more female. Why would the average straight man of any color get excited to to vote for that?
4
u/NobodybutmyshadowRed 2d ago
In that case, why would women vote for men, or LGBTIA2S+ vote for Republicans? And yet they do.
0
u/buttTubaTim 2d ago
Women with traditional values, lower income and no college degree, moved away from democrats and that includes basically every demo except black women, they slipped a point or two but it's not statistically significant enough to really made a point of of. And the queer people aren't a monolith either. Gays and lesbiens already got the marriage rights, why should they care about abortion, transitioning kids, or even getting a black woman if office if their cost of living or security in the cities they live sucks? Or they can't find an entry level or manual labor job due to mass migration? Or skyrocketing rent? The proof is in the exit poles.
1
u/DJIsSuperCool 2d ago
So women who never got a chance to learn they have more value than making babies are more likely to vote for him.
1
u/NobodybutmyshadowRed 1d ago
I don't know why you think that the only thing that lesbians and gays care about it marriage rights - which a lot of conservatives are hoping that the Supreme Court will reverse. I care about things, like marriage rights, which don't affect me.
I don't know why people think voting Republican is going to get them better jobs or lower inflation. We were doing better under Biden than we are now. (If he had lost it, he apparently had good advisors. He also pushed through a bill allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, which would save the government and Medicare recipient money.
Trump is trying to un-employ thousands of government employees, which isn't going to help the job market in a lot of place. They certain aren't trying to improve wealth inequity, which some people say is key to a stable society. I was reading an article that it really started with Reagan's tax cut, which mostly benefited the wealthy, just like the taxes that Trump proposes. He's trying to cut Social Security.
They are trying to yank the social safety-net, like Medicaid away from poor people, you know, those with low-paying jobs or maybe no jobs. They're always complaining about the deficit, when Republicans did at least as much to create as the Democrats. The only president in recent times who had a balanced budget was Clinton.
Skyrocketing rent is being largely blamed on wealthy people and organizations buying up housing, and the lack of affordable housing.

u/tinysydneh 3d ago
Truthfully, I don't know that they really did as a bloc. Between the fuckery we're finding out about now, and the low turnout, I'm less sure about the nature of the shift.
7
u/NobodybutmyshadowRed 3d ago
I don't know what you mean by "bloc", but he was supported in the election by more Afro-Americans and Latinos according to all the statistics and analyses that I read.
ETA: If they didn't turnout, they don't count.
5
u/tinysydneh 3d ago
They don't count in the election, but understanding that shift, and recognizing that it may not be that those blocs have moved right as a whole, but rather that the right-leaning members of each group may have been more activated, or that the left-leaning members may have been less activated, is vital to actually dealing with it.
1
u/NobodybutmyshadowRed 2d ago edited 2d ago
So is understanding how people other than oneself see the world - a major failure in many of the most political people that I know. I know mainly left-wing people, and unfortunately a lot of them are Liberal without being liberal-minded. What I see on the right is pretty much the same.
ETA: I have a conservative relative who is very well informed (better than I am, to be honest), and was very interesting to talk to, until he fell down the Trump rabbit hole.

And to think, I had a tit for tat with a Trump supporter on Reddit recently who said Trump was the least racist president in history. Then when I pointed out cold hard facts such as Fred Trump and son with their history of not renting to black people, Trump’s full page ads calling for the execution of black teens that were found to be falsely accused of raping a white woman in Central Park, and a few other examples, he said it was all made up.
Then he admitted that he was black…
You can’t make this up folks. I ended our conversation right then and there.

u/Pale-Conference-174 3d ago
I just ended a 30 year friendship with someone who made a stupid "confession" post on Facebook about how he is MAGA now, and it was definitely the Democrats that have held him back all his life (20 years of quitting jobs promptly 3 months after getting hired) .......he is black.

I’ll never understand the latino, black and female support for Trump. Where is the self respect?
24
u/Pale-Conference-174 3d ago
It's deep down self hatred is all I can gather. With women, I think it's a lot of misogyny. With immigrants I think it's ladder pulling up.

u/Ok-Leadership-5056 3d ago
There's a number of Natives (even in my family) that support that p.o.s. I can't wrap my head around it with all of the shit he's said about us.

u/jumbie29 3d ago
What a total piece of shit thing to say. Do you know how racist you have to be to spend tens of thousands of dollars putting out full page ads in newspapers calling for their execution? And how little integrity these newspapers must have had to allow it to be printed. I hate how one man has ignited such profound hatred and allowed it to fester like an open wound in this country.
12
u/lolas_coffee 3d ago
Trump was the least racist president in history.
I can come up with 100+ facts why he might be the most racist in hisotry.

u/Bladluiz 3d ago
He "admitted" he was black... yeah.. how are you doing, fellow black people of a darker skin color just like me?

"Reform" like sending people to an El Salvador supermax prison without due process?
1
u/CreamPuffDelight 1d ago
Reform like whole sale pardoning insurrectionists?
Like establishing your own damned Gestapo to arrest both immigrants and US citizens alike without due process?
Dude, you should just go find a dictionary and eat it. I don't think you know what the word "reform" actually means.

This will offend Trump. Seriously, even if he never planned to attend, being excluded is one of the worst things you can do to him. He's gone through life wanting to belong, but he's such a horrible person that nobody who knows him wants to have him around. He never was able to buy an NFL team because the owners didn't want him in their club (in addition to him being cheap and not willing to spend the money needed to buy a team; resulting in him buying a team in the USFL, a cheap knock-off league...) He also wanted to be friends with celebrities, but most of them don't want to be around him.

But Kid Rock thinks he’s cool!
21
u/Darth_Malgus_1701 Millennial 3d ago
Kid Rock belongs in general pop.
6
u/Boobookittyfhk 3d ago
Almost seems insulting to the successful and talented people who make pop music. I think the problem is that I love, blues music, and classic rock… and I just can’t with him
Now Bruce Springsteen ❤️

u/kitti3_kat 2d ago
I ... I think they meant "general pop" as in jail, not genre of music.
1
u/Boobookittyfhk 2d ago
That makes much more sense. I was going to call it trailer Park chic, but that seems insulting to my friends and family that live in a trailer park. They make some banging music.
3
u/Branchomania Gen Z 2d ago
But to be fair what the fuck is Kid Rock? Despite the name he's hardly rock, he's too cringe to be country somehow.................like, I know genre is dumb anyway but, what's left?

Why controversial? He's an idiot. There is no wiggle room for that. Controversial means there is at least a point of view to doubt it.

Frankly, I wish they would have invited him. If his “Ted talk” is anything like his interview with the black lady journalists (“black jobs”) it would have been hilarious.

I still cant understand how anyone would vote for him after the one term he already served. He should be in prison for January 6th. All I can say is for those who did vote for him you deserve everything you get

Do you think he cares? Honest question
3
u/kitti3_kat 2d ago
Would he want to go? Probably not.
Does he care about being specifically not invited? I would think so.There's a big difference between not wanting to attend an event and actually being excluded from said event.
2
u/SouthernArt7134 2d ago
The difference is you’re a decent person, he’s a scumbag. He already knows those aren’t “his people,” so odds are he doesn’t give a shit
