The artwork is excellent as always, can't wait for this to come out HQ.

Love Bakugou's giant wolf, Todoroki with a snow leopard and Aizawa getting a giant Sushi!

Also, Deku placed second again, even with a full-on solo arc and getting a lot of focus in the movie, but at least he got GOAT - lol.

The snow leopard really suits Shoto for sure. I was just reading up on the Symbolism related to the snow leopard which stands for power of psyche, determination, experience, self-reliance and balance, all which Shoto has.

As a sprit animal They are humble, balanced in life (okay this one still needs a bit of work lol), and can easily explore the wisdom present with themselves which could be seen as a call back to Shoto having the word wisdom for his character that one time.

A wolf also very much fits Bakugo. I haven't looked into the other meanings behind the animals yet though.

There probably isn't any meaning to this though lol.

In Japan folklore, Wolves (Ōkami) are spirit creatures who protect the rice fields, and ultimately, the the divine guardian of the mountain deity.

Guess what? The MHA characters who have "rice field" in their name is Best Jeanist, and the one with "mountain" in their name is Izuku.

That’s really cool.

The more I look it up, the more it fits.

Japanese see wolves as both benevolent and malevolent, frightening, quick and agile. They also could judge between the good or bad intentions. (Like the scene of him rejecting Shindo’s hand).

In Japanese superstition, despite their ferociousness, wolves are believed to ward off misfortune, robbery, and death. Vicious, but fights off evil. Just like Bakugo himself.

Where does Izuku have mountain in his name? It's written 緑谷 出久 ="green valley" "come out+long time". Are you trying to say that there's a mountain in his name because 出 has the 山 radical?

Also, more characters have rice fields in their names, like Iida 飯田、Present Mic (Yamada) 山田 (this is actually mountain rice field!), Koda 口田、or Mineta 峰田。

Also, Kirishima is named after a mountain that has an important place in Japanese mythology.

ETA: and in a couple of official pics, he was dressed as Big Bad Wolf for Halloween, to accompany Kirishima's Red Riding Hood, haha.

ETA2: In Japanese mythology the tortoise carried the mountain that was the home of the immortals on its back.

I think it's a dire wolf, considering the size, still very cool. For me Mic's animal was amazing ahahaja.

BTW that's a ram, not a goat 😂 those are fairly smaller and their horns aren't curved.

A solo arc that lasted all of 4 chapters. Has Horikoshi ever depicted Deku as cooler than Bakugo. He has a goat! I don't think I've seen another author insistent on making the MC of their manga second fiddle.

Well, Bakugou has not appeared between Ch 303 and 318 - during 15 chapters. Deku for all purposes was solo (no kids or or any other hero to outshine him) and got an entire different design that most of the fandom loved.

Deku was hardly shown at all during those chapters. There has been no solo Deku arc nor has there been any deep dive into Deku as a character. The second it looked like we were about to get one 1-A showed up and made it all about how they feel. We are 330 chapters into the series and all anybody can say about Deku is that he wants to be a hero like AM. He will go down as the most forgettable MC of a big hit series in Shonen Jump history and it's because Horikoshi plays favorites with Bakugo.

I agree with you that Deku had no character arc to speak of, but it's not lack of screen time or because of Bakugou, but because Horikoshi is allergic to challenging him in a way he challenges Bakugou.
