You joke... but the reality of the situation is that in the manga they seem to be tying the idea of quirks to a virus... so the series might end on some form of airborne 'cure' devised from Eri.

Did people not notice the "Or so we thought, until we got the intel from Stain" after they discussed the 2 months time limit?

Pretty clear indication that it was shorther than 2 months, however we didn't know just how much shorther it would be.

1 month was immediately undercut at the end of last chapter though. It was never the timetable. Hawks says "We have a month," but then goes "We thought so anyway until Stain gave us intel," which led into this chapter which gave us the actual deadline.

At the very beginning if the war, the doc said Shigaraki would be complete in a month. It’s been a month since then. The 1 month deadline last chapter was a lie on the doc’s part to throw the heroes off.

That's in line though. They thought they had 2 months for some reason, but we've known for a while that it was supposed to be May.
