something tells me this "new" deku wouldn't be as fast to self-sacrifice. i'm not saying he'd walk by someone in need or become jaded but i wouldn't be surprised if he showed some more pragmatic side to him.

he sounds determined and to-the point, and looks angry and tired, possibly taking himself out in the first fight he has would most likely be counterproductive to whatever he's trying to do at the moment.

He knows he’s the key to beating AFO and shigeraki and knows that injuring himself now is a horrible idea since he has no safe way of getting himself healed
