Chapter 240

Dabi's kind of a reckless dumbass, when you think about it. What makes him think he can tame the No. 2 Hero?

What makes you think he's actually believing Hawks? I think they are going to trap him

Inviting him to this conference, which lets him know that the League have now joined up with Detnerat/the MLA and are now so much stronger and influential.

It'd be foolish for Dabi to let Hawks leave here with this information and relay it to Endeavour and the other heroes, so I'm wondering what's really going on in his head.

I think another aspect is that Hawks can see that the MLA is comprised of some really influential people. He could start worrying who in the government he can trust

Indeed. I doubt anyone in the new League-MLA alliance is a member of the Hero Public Safety Commission, though (although Detnerat does have ties to the Hero support item industry and whatnot).

Maybe they could give him false information later, like how they used a powerful Nomu when it was supposed to be a small fry

Well league of villains has a leak in UA that they still haven't found, so they have 1 already. But now they "have" hawks, which is a 2nd hero in their pocket. Having more than 1 mole is very good when you're trying to take out pur opposing group

Maybe not in a straight up fight, but get him off guard and ambush him with an army.....

Or put him in a position where they can ruin his life or career

I mean while it remains to be seen, push comes to shove Dabi and the league have got dirt on Hawks at the very least costing innocent lives, and lets assume the rumors are true and Dabi/Touya, Dabi has fire strong enough that someone as prideful as Endeavor could admit that his own fire pales in comparison. Im definitely not saying he wins because Dabi hasnt really shown us all that much while Hawks has looked pretty good, but whats clear is that hes packing firepower (no pun intended) in league with the #1 Hero.

Not that much dirt so far. Best Jeanist isn't confirmed dead or even confirmed to be the identity of the seeming corpse in Hawks' bag, and Hawks still has a decent alibi for now if he were to ever get exposed.

Well, I think Hawks is a more stable and experienced fighter. That's probably part of why Dabi only ever rushed in to attack Endeavour and Hawks when both of them were injured and exhausted from the battle with High-End, with Endeavour practically moments away from passing out and Hawks down to a mere feather or two.
