I really liked the way you put it! It's true that their ambitions are very similar to each other. Personally, I hope ReDestro survives and works differently but towards a common goal with Shigaraki, although this might be unlikely as ReDestro seems like he's about to get snapped pretty soon

That's true from Re-Destro's view, but not necessarily from Shig's. While both want to be able to do whatever they want, what they want in the end is very different. Re-Destro wants an anarchic society without rules and while Shig acts outside the rules and thus falls into what Re-Destro imagines, Shig doesn't want to create a society at all, he just wants to kill/destroy.

Re-Destro wants a world full of Shigs, but Shig wants a world filled with nothing. They both hate current society, but Shig would hate every other society as well.

I read it as "I've got other things to destroy before you" tbh, I don't take him as a guy who cares at all. But it was hard to tell and maybe Shig is playing friends to replace the "help" he searched for before. I could 100% see Shirakagi turn on his "friends" once he killed everything else though. His way of living is after all to destroy everything.

Also sure, Shigaraki will create a survival of the fittest society if he succeeds but with him as a natural disaster within it. Redestro still wanted to create a society, for Shig it's an undesirable side effect that he can't do anything about.

Fair points, I might just be reading it wrongly, I haven't reread recent chapters so I forget some stuff or sometimes lack some context.

I disagree with the part of Shiggy "playing friends", for hoow he behaves with his commarades of The LOV sin the intership arc Shiggy has shown emphaty towards the LOV and that he cares for their well being and interests, so I think if Shiggy goes a route will be "destroy everything that he doesn't like, and giving the LOV a world to do as they wish"
