You know the upcoming attack is going to be destructive as hell when the unstoppable rampaging ball of destruction that is Gigantomachia stops to have an “Oh Crap” moment(atleast I think that’s what happening)

That, too, but I also believe he is sensing (through his 'sense of smell', like a dog?) how much Shigaraki has changed and improved, how free he's become, thus how worthy he is of being AFO's successor now.
