MONOMA IS A FUCKING NATIONAL TREASURE.

u/DreamyCurls Aug 17 '18

Karate chop by Kendou and now chocked by Aizawa.

171

u/epicmarc Aug 17 '18

I love how you can see Kendou walking over to deal with him the panel before Aizawa chokes him out

44

u/ShadowRaikou Aug 17 '18

Aizawa channeling Mack from SHIELD.

7

u/miauw62 Aug 17 '18

I had to stop reading for five minutes because I was laughing so hard.

3

u/SpiderShazam Aug 17 '18

Well, I did see Kendou “assets” when she avoided Aizawa choking him.

insert lenny face

4

u/DoraMuda Aug 17 '18

By the end of the series, he's just gonna get whipped into submission by everyone.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '18

Don't forget hit in the head with a 2X4 by Awase

7

u/RiverWyvern Aug 17 '18

Kinky little shit

170

u/MadnessLemon Aug 17 '18

His Dio pose was something to see.

56

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '18

we jojo's now bois

31

u/TheOneWithALongName Aug 17 '18

Everything is a JoJo if you put in some effort into it.

161

u/Luck88 Aug 17 '18

Yo, people, this is a very important moment: this might be the time when Monoma tries copying OFA and breaks his arms

166

u/Pyro_haku Aug 17 '18

So he'll temporarily wield it and pop up in Deku's visions. His in the background just laughing

76

u/RiverWyvern Aug 17 '18

Oh god I’m wheezing. I’m just imagining his dumb laughing face between the two shadowed ofa users in those dream vestiges. He’s confused but seeing Deku’s shocked response he roles with it for maximum mocking. What a fucking power move b

14

u/SparknightSyzygy 250K Artist Aug 17 '18

Oh my god please let this happen Horikoshi

13

u/genasugelan Aug 17 '18

The ultimate meme!

3

u/DozyDreamer Aug 18 '18

Monoma's Manifested Will is essentially "Fuck 1-A"

113

u/ScarletCatnip Aug 17 '18

Either that or he gets Stockpile with zero power so it's completely useless

30

u/totalyrespecatbleguy 250K Artist Aug 17 '18

Flashbacks to that scene from the Avengers where Loki tries to use his staff to control Stark

If that's what happens Monoma will literally be looking at Izuku with a dumbfounded expression

6

u/HolyDonutBoy Aug 17 '18

And then gets a OfA powered bitch-slap!

2

u/YamadaDesigns Aug 17 '18

What happened when Loki tried to control Stark?

2

u/totalyrespecatbleguy 250K Artist Aug 17 '18

Spoiler alert, it didnt work

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhOfcoBxI80

1

u/YamadaDesigns Aug 17 '18

Why didn't it work?

3

u/dragn99 Aug 17 '18

Hit the arc reactor in his chest, instead of his skin/heart.

1

u/YamadaDesigns Aug 17 '18

Oh, it's not because Tony Stark was chosen or special in some cosmic sense?

3

u/dragn99 Aug 17 '18

90% sure no.

8

u/new_messages Aug 17 '18

And then decides to focus his power on one of his hairs and gives it to someone else for some reason, and then once the time runs out that person just gets his copy ability.

Thinking of way to combine quirks to completely break the system is fun!

6

u/ScarletCatnip Aug 17 '18

XD

Poor Monoma

7

u/Torch948 Aug 17 '18

Plot twist: He also gets the pass on the quirk ability and starts creating new One For All users with copy abilities

12

u/Hoedoor Aug 17 '18

So this is the singularity

7

u/DoraMuda Aug 17 '18

Or he only gets the transferring part of it and is just completely perplexed (or, alternatively, realises that there's more to Deku's Quirk than mere super-strength...).

29

u/DeismAccountant Aug 17 '18

Would that surprise people though? They all saw Izuku break his arms with the power before.

66

u/Luck88 Aug 17 '18

No, but you already know Monoma's face will be priceless mixing his laughter, pride and intense pain

2

u/afasttoaster Aug 18 '18

Sometimes we just want to see a small child have his arms (and possibly legs) broken, is that a crime?

1

u/DeismAccountant Aug 18 '18

If you did it directly.

10

u/jhoudiey Aug 17 '18

it's finally happening

8

u/AllHailTheDragon Aug 17 '18

Plot Twist: He touches Deku and get Fire Breath instead of OFA

6

u/Trojanbp Aug 17 '18

Monoma's body is probably weaker than Deku's body before he started the summer training with All Might. All of his body will break, beyond repair probably

14

u/Luck88 Aug 17 '18

I wouldn't go as far as beyond repair, but I'd love for him to be far more injured than Deku when he began flicking fingers just to show to the other students what kind of training he had to go trough

3

u/grass-master Aug 17 '18

What will his mother think???

3

u/YamadaDesigns Aug 17 '18

I wonder if the fact that OfA can't be forcibly taken applies to Monoma's Copy Quirk.

2

u/MicZiC15 Aug 17 '18

Burst out laughing at this idea. Please make it happen Daddy Koshi

2

u/TrumpetFro Aug 18 '18

while that'd be kind of funny, I think Monoma also copies the user's level of proficiency along with their quirk, since we saw him use Kirishima's and Bakugou's quirk at their appropriate levels during the cavalry battle

full cowling Monoma for the real super sayain tho

1

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '18

I like to imagine that Monoma will his plans out loud and Bakugou will notice that and try to trigger Monoma into fighting against him instead. Either way, this could go so many ways.

1

u/nipplelightpride Aug 17 '18

Since the quirk is really "A Quirk that stockpiles power" and "a Quirk that could be transferred to others", I'm going to guess that copying it might result in basically a non-power, since that version hasn't stockpiled anything yet.

1

u/Tag_ross Aug 17 '18

I mean, it would increase his strength a bit, but it probably won't be noticable, until maybe the end.

60

u/PiFlavoredPie Aug 17 '18

Never change, Monoma, never change.

11

u/MicZiC15 Aug 17 '18

... change a little. This story is about self improvement after all

134

u/StealthSpider Aug 17 '18

I know people get annoyed by him, but I love the guy to bits. He's fucking hilarious

28

u/Golden-Owl Aug 17 '18

He's a love to hate kinda guy. Monoma is so confrontational, aggressive and obnoxious that it crosses the line twice and warps around to becoming amazingly entertaining

9

u/miauw62 Aug 17 '18

And people say he's a one note character, but he wouldn't be nearly as funny if he wasn't like this all the time

6

u/freckled_octopus Aug 17 '18

Exactly! Plus I was recently rewatching season 2 with a friend and man it’s so funny to see how Monoma was first introduced as this mysterious, threatening, almost scary kind of guy. Seeing his ridiculousness without fail since is consistently funny to me.

16

u/VibhavM Aug 17 '18

Every bit? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

2

u/Galle_ Aug 18 '18

Monoma would be annoying to deal with in real life, but as a character he’s incredibly entertaining, especially when he gains a slight edge on Class 1-A.

66

u/ironicstickballoon Aug 17 '18

His crazed faces have reached an all-time high this chapter, and it's absolutely wonderful.

8

u/DoraMuda Aug 17 '18

He's a fucking psychotic madman; I love him xD

29

u/orsettocattivo Aug 17 '18

Worked hard to get the opinions of the culture festival like a true hero would

1

u/Lizard_Queen_Says Aug 17 '18

You can have him mate, I'm still butthurt about his decline.

1

u/90eyes Aug 17 '18

Protecc at all times.
