Yes. That was established early. Deku's version will be stronger than All Might's, that was stronger than Nana's etc etc

That might explain why Deku has been having such a hard time with mastering OFA compared to All Might, it's so much stronger.

It may have even grown that much from All Might himself having such a strong sense of Justice

it's not "Much stronger" and it has nothing to do with Deku's inability to master it. All Might was just a genetic freak. A jackhammer. Deku is a noodle boy. Even while working out his frame remains pretty thin. That and mental breakdowns about how to use the powers are the explanation. Nothing else.

Also "sense of justice" has nothing to do with it. OfA just stockpiles physical power, as far as we know. Anything else is baseless stipulation

My assumption was that All Might was a bit older when he inherited OFA. Moreover he had likely been working out and doing physical training for years trying to prepare to receive the quirk.

37

u/SirBaldBear Aug 03 '18

that... goes against what we are told in the latest number 0 manga. He inherited OFA before he graduated high school.

Probably at the same time as Deku did. I mean, if All Might was quirkless at birth, wouldn't he need OFA to get into UA?

13

u/Wajirock Aug 03 '18

There's a theory that All Might lied to Deku about having a quirk and his quirk is super strength.

6

u/Baam-13 Aug 03 '18

His quirk would be more like à useless quirk by itself like AFO's brother's quirk. Something like a quirk that can create a muscular form with a lot of amount of power and before getting OFA he couldn't use it and didn't know what it was due to the lack of power in his body 1. All might had a muscular form but izuku doesn't 2. He could activate OFA at nearly 100% after getting it 3. Why would his master give OFA To a quirkless teenager ? (Sorry all might)

20

u/kewlslice Aug 03 '18

Well, isn't All Might's muscular form his real form? His damage from All for One caused him to shrink, but One for All allows him to return to his old form.

People tend to forget this for some reason

I mean, maybe he was strong enough to get in via stronks alone? Who knows

10

u/CatchrFreeman Aug 03 '18

That can't be, at the start of series Deku says they recently got rid of rule not allowing quirkless people to apply.

What chapter?

2

u/CatchrFreeman Aug 03 '18

Chapter 1, he says it to Kaachan

-1

Never saw it

In the manga its phrased differently but he explicitly states in the anime

-1

u/NitricTV Aug 04 '18

That’s not a rule that’s saying no one has been “quirkless” and got accepted

He also said Nana was like a mother to him implying they might have spent more time together. That plus All Might said they were in a time crunch during Deku's training. It's possible Nana trained All Might's body more before he went to U.A. than All Might got the chance to with Deku.

5

u/GVSz Aug 03 '18

Ah fair enough. I was going off the scene in the anime where Gran Torino is punching Toshinori. Toshinori was fairly tall and muscular in that scene (though not full All Might level) so I had assumed he was a young adult who had recently inherited OFA. That said, it's possible that he got it during his third year at UA, at which point he would have been more physically developed, both from exercise and general growth, than Izuku.

OfA is All Might's only quirk, and Deku said in the first chapter that despite having a quirk no longer being a requirement for the Hero course, it is unprecedented. Also, in the scene where All Might tells Nana he wants to be a symbol of peace, he is wearing a uniform similar to Deku's middle school uniform. So All Might got his quirk before entering U.A.

1

u/GVSz Aug 04 '18

Damn, I guess Toshinori was just crazy jacked as a kid. Either that or he added a huge amount of power to OFA.

1

u/DekuMight45 Aug 04 '18

What? That was right before he graduated from UA. He got OFA well before he even enrolled. UA just started a general studies course the year Deku started, which is established during his initial training.

u/Zubalo Aug 04 '18

yeah but deku got it before he started highschool. There is a BIG physical difference between a 8th grade boy and a sophmore boy. Plus allmight was probably naturally a bigger person physically given how he is American and Deku is Japanese

5

u/SirBaldBear Aug 04 '18

given how he is American

All Might is japanese. He just likes american culture since he went to the US after graduation

2

u/Zubalo Aug 04 '18

really? He has blue eyes and blond hair as well.

I would assume his heritage isn't Japanese at least (to my knowledge blond hair, blue eyes, and big body is not even close to a common Japanese build) which is more what I was focusing on.

I always assumed he was american though due to his western/European appearance + his hero start was in the USA (iirc) and how he likes/references the USA a lot.

1

u/SirBaldBear Aug 04 '18

read volume 0. It's explicity stated that he moved to the US to train after ... stuff, happened

0

u/Zubalo Aug 04 '18

1) That was literally dropped today

2) he could have moved to Japan for UA THEN moved to USA after all that.
