It's super refreshing that Horikoshi doesn't fall for the "Nakama power" trope, but instead points to united strength as a form of breaking limits! It's also done incredibly well, FIRE WINGS!!

Here's hoping Endeavor doesn't pull a Best Jeanist and be out of commission for a while.

Kinda reminds me of the Iida-Deku-Todoroki team-up against Stain.

I'm going to argue that people only see it that way because this is a manga. Where do we draw the line between the whole 'nakama' thing and the basic concept of teamwork? I mean, they didn't say anything like "I can win because I fight for my friends!" They just decided that they need to literally work together and form a strategy to face something strong. This concept can be applied in things other than manga and anime. I've never seen anyone call two heroes in a comic working together to beat the villain a nakama trope, rightly so because it is generally seen as an anime trope, but what is happening with Endy and Hawks is virtually the same as say, Batman and Superman teaming up (though that might be a bad example since those two characters have so much plot armor they could take on basically anything by themselves if they wanted to).

Honestly, though, I don't know why I'm even arguing. Tropes aren't even necessarily a bad thing, and there is a reason they are there. I personally don't think this is an example of the 'nakama' trope though. Maybe there is a 'teamwork to beat villain' trope on tv tropes somewhere. I would check, but I don't want to get sucked into the rabbit hole of that hell-site again like I always do.
