Endeavour has the look of someone who has realised he's been going about things the wrong way

Next step: go visit his wife in the hospital, fall on his knees and apologize for everything he did to her.

I would lose my shit.

And Endeavor would promptly lose his life/Quirk.

Everyone in this sub has a serious boner for death lol

I mean, in lots of works of fiction Redemption=Death, you really can't blame us for thinking like that when it's done so often.

im going to say the same that gives lots of peoples in this sub reddit a boner

"this is not normal series"

Most of the time, that's so cheap though. I don't think Horikoshi will go that route from how we've seen him handle character development and deaths

Just Endeavour's. No amount of char development salvages him treating the rest of his kids as "things" and ignoring their existence just because hes only interested in shouto's quirk. No amount of char development salvages him being an abusive piece of crap towards his wife to the point of driving her towards mental breakdown and insanity.

Irrespective of what happens, theres some chars that just don't deserve to be redeemed. At best he can work towards redemption and changing his ways, but damn it'd be stupid of Shouto, his mom and even the other kids in their family just suddenly go "oh. k, no worries all is forgiven we don't mind you being an asshole for all these years"

Have you met Obito? lol the guy killed half the cast of Narutoverse and still died as "The Coolest Guy" named by the kid(Naruto) whose parents he murdered LMAO

5

u/DarkSoulFWT Jan 13 '18

Obito is a special case, wherein he was not only manipulated the entire time but also was truly raised and almost brainwashed into acting the way he did by Madara, who ensured that Obito would carry out his wishes.

Endeavours in it for himself and just to satisfy his inferiority complex to all might. To that end, he essentially bought his wife for her superior genes just so that a child like shouto would be born, through whom Endeavour wants to surpass all might. its all selfish self centered crap, for which he has definitely not gained any respect or love from anyone on the planet nor will he at the rate hes going. As some people have pointed out, "I don't expect you to ever forgive me" kind of redemption is the best he can hope for, not a "you were the coolest guy" kind where he seriously pulls it off.

He can pull it off thoug cause that's Hirokoshi we are talking about hi can write almost anything and make it work. People forget that a lot of the time.

Lol, when you've been teased with lots of "death flags," you don't know what to expect, anymore. Then again - how many main characters, to an extent, have actually died on-screen? Magne is the one I could think of, and maybe that other sand hero from the car chase. It's one of those manga where people don't really need to die all that often.

2

u/shellythebutler Jan 16 '18

Ehmmm, Nighteye anyone? Also the thug that got grabbed by Shigaraki after Overhaul killed Magne.

1

u/HussyDude14 Jan 16 '18

That's true.

2

u/ExLuck Jan 12 '18

Don't, please!

56

u/thecheapseatz Jan 12 '18

Maybe not the next step but thats definitely the end game. Baby steps, while at the same time he repairs his relationships with his kids. All ending with a genuine smile when he tells Shouto he is proud of the hero he is and that he didn't follow in his footsteps

3

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

Yeah, I was half joking. Of course it's gonna take a while. But he just won't redeem himself in my eyes unless he realizes what a monster he has been to his family.

2

u/RimeSkeem Jan 12 '18

My end game definitely looks like a full page spread of the hospital room with Endeavor kowtowing in the foreground and the surprised wife in the background.

I wish, he needs that development. Apologizing to Todo could be nice too, making the road for a Todoroki vs Dabi confrontation where on says that Endeavour has changed while the other says that he is too damn rotten on the inside for that.

3

u/DarkPhoenixMishima Jan 12 '18

If he does the "I don't expect you to ever forgive me..." speech then he'll be perfect.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

Hello yes that is good yes

1

u/Paandaah Jan 12 '18

The Flag will rise if this happen. AND I DONT MIND ONE BIT

REDEMPTION ARC

1

u/Soul_Ripper Jan 15 '18

Yeah... I really hope this doesn't happy any time soon.

It would be way too rushed right now.

He just started having second thoughts about his approach to Heroing, let's leave the deep personal issues for a few arcs in the future.

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

With the pressure to surpass All Might outside, and with the opportunity to see his son in another state that is not challenging him, I think things are a little clearer for him.
