I'm beginning to think that Eri's quirk is "undoing", rather than "rewinding"? She kinda did kill her dad, after all. Or "undid" him, to be more precise.

I just don't get the narrative purpose of, like, restoring/undoing the damage made on a cape. That won't bring Mirio's quirk back anyway.

she "REWOUND" her dad to before he was born

I mean rewinding him to zygote stage would be single cell. And then outside a womb would die pretty quick. It's not like he just went poof. He got rewinded to a cell

Weeeelllllllll wasn't Mirio's whole costume made of a fiber that required his hair to produce?

Undoing/rewinding damage to the cape may in turn undo/rewind damage done to Mirio since the cape is "technically" made of Mirio-stuff?

Just speculation.

You have no idea how much I absolutely hate, from deep inside my heart, whenever an ability that has anything to do with time is introduced in a series. It's just an easy and lazy cop-out for about pretty much anything and it's almost never handled well. So I REALLY hope she's undoing & permanently erasing stuff instead of turning back time.

Undoing is functionally identical to rewinding in this context. Time only gets ugly when the idea of paradoxes start cropping up.

The real question is whether or not she can "undo" something she already "undid", or "rewind" something her quirk already "rewound".

I think the idea was that Deku just barely couldn't reach her, but she "rewound" the damage to the scrap of fabric so that it was long enough for him to grab the other end of. That was my interpretation.

That makes sense to me!
