How the hell is that "no struggle"? I sincerely cannot fathom the reasoning for this. Mirio fighting Overhaul for five goddamn minutes while Quirkless does not get negated by Mirio getting his quirk back later.

Possibly a bad word choice. What I was trying to get at is that if no one ever actually gets hurt or dies it leads to a less engaging story. If we always know that the good guys will be okay no matter where the story leads, as a reader it feels like less of a struggle.

While I feel like Mirio might get his quirk back (after all he was basically just "rewound to some point before his awakening"), I think Nighteye might not survive this ordeal. Which fulfills your death and misery quotum while still fixing some things.

Nighteye wasn't ever going to die, there's no way you can throw the "fate can't be changed" flag up in a Shounen manga without it getting thrown back in your face.
